well what are some good socal bands that you think should get signed. and by socal I mean preferably San Diego, but whatever
Signed? This isn't **** rock dude. See my HARDCORE PRIDE rant in the other thread.

But if you're asking what SoCal bands I support...

www.myspace.com/feedingfrenzy - Fast, Negative Approachish hardcore.
www.myspace.com/limblessjerks - Ghostlimb. Tragedyish. Good stuff.
www.myspace.com/finalfight - Duh.
www.myspace.com/timeforchange - One of my favorites. 90s hardcoreish.
www.myspace.com/violationhc - Don't know if that's the right address but they're called Violation. Heavier hardcore.
www.myspace.com/outofheart - Melodic
www.myspace.com/judasslays - Like if Eyehategod were PV. Great band.
www.myspace.com/teamxramrod - Friend's band but I think they're alright. Kinda thrashy I guess.
www.myspace.com/comeandgetit - I think they suck but they're good guys and a lot of people are into them so maybe you'll dig them. Sound exactly like Terror.

I'm not 100% on all of those addresses but they have the name of the band in there so search it up if it doesn't work.

San Diego's a couple hours south of me and I don't go to shows down there too often. All I really know from down there is PC Deathsquad and Lewd Acts. I don't really like Lewd Acts but PC Deathsquad rule. Last Priest were really ****ing good but they just broke up.

Why do you ask? Going to San Diego soon?

chips88 12-12-2006 04:50 PM

No, haha. My friends in on my side are working with words of war records, and he's based out of san diego, and he's signed 4 bands already, and looking to make the next one be local, so I'm just wondering what bands are in socal that are good that he should look at or something. Not to mention I just like hearing new ****. and lewd acts rules.

BuddyBigsby 12-12-2006 05:02 PM

ohhh, alright.

raus 12-12-2006 05:10 PM

JUDAS

Seriously, guide him in their direction.

Arrakakaka 12-12-2006 05:14 PM

Does anyone know how to scream "Jane Doe"?

Or at least how to comprehend the lryics? All I can make out is "KREEEAHHHGRG BRAAA BARK BARK" and then the "I want out" part.'

I have the lyrics sheet too.

There's a show coming up they're going to play with Broken Needle and a bunch of others at this pizza place. Its going to rule.

Lazybassplr56 12-12-2006 05:39 PM

Broken Needle are my boys. Tell em whats up. I can't make it out cause it to far.

BuddyBigsby 12-12-2006 05:51 PM

Yeah, I've met Todd a few times and he's a great guy. I'm hoping their LP will finally come out sometime soon, haha.

Lazybassplr56 12-12-2006 06:05 PM

He says their thinking of putting it out on Rev but I don't know. Todd's definately a solid dude. He has such a cr00sh record collection. Everytime I'm at his house he pulls out shit that makes my jaw drop.

BuddyBigsby 12-12-2006 06:09 PM

Wow, that'd be awesome if it came out through Rev. BN are definitely one of the better bands in SoCal that have been around forever with hardly any recognition.

Lazybassplr56 12-12-2006 06:20 PM

For sure. They played the fucking last last Carry On shows at the Showcase.

I call bullshit on everyone who was singing along at the Converge show I went to. They were just gesturing and making noises along with Jake.

Malice 12-12-2006 10:08 PM

Half of them were probably swinging their hair in their faces to disguise their mouths so people couldn't bust them in the act too, amirite?

AndreTheHyena 12-12-2006 11:01 PM

Nah, most of them were shorthairs. The longhairs stayed in back until Mastodon started playing.

The Pope 12-13-2006 01:39 PM

kings cannot fall motherfuucka

BuddyBigsby 12-13-2006 01:48 PM

Hey Pope, I have this heavy ****ing album I just downloaded and I think you're the only one on here who will appreciate it. What's your e-mail? I'd love to send you a couple songs and the whole thing if you like it.

Feel The Darkness 12-13-2006 01:51 PM

ScandiHC rules. That is all.

NP: Wolfbrigade - In Darkness You Fell No Regrets - Fran Vaggan Till Graven

raus 12-13-2006 06:51 PM

Wolfbrigade are so fucking good. One of my favorite crust bands.

RetiredAt21 12-13-2006 06:54 PM

Wolfbrigade are great.

raus 12-13-2006 07:24 PM

You know those stupid broads from Laguna Beach, Lauren I think and her sister? We got a Christmas picture/card from them. I'm like a celebrity.

Feel The Darkness 12-13-2006 07:30 PM

I have a huge Wolfbrigade - In Darkness You Feel No Regrets poster on my wall. It rules.

AIRIC 12-13-2006 07:51 PM

Wolfpack are better!

Some Girls talking about MLIW. GOD DAMN THEY'RE RETARDED.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2006 01:07 PM

Can't listen at work. Give me a summary with bullet points.

Let's Chop Cats! 12-14-2006 01:18 PM

There is a huge thread on B9 about it but...
http://www.b9board.com/viewtopic.php?t=300347

-SG thought MLIW are boring, generic and unintellectual. and I think they called them cokeheads
-They said they wanted to be known as an intellectual band, this was after mumbling, suttering and generally not being able to back up any of their points
-They just sound like pretentious assholes.
"Even to bring everything full circle, it's like with our existence as a band. It's like we're on this tour where you have like, I mean, it was just mindblowing tonight to see white males so pissed off and aggressive and just going apeshit for other bands and then I'm stoked on this tour because people look at us like we're lepers or retarded or something. It's like '**** you people I don't relate to you, I'm not.' I wanna relate to the intellectuals, I want someone to, I wanna go hang out with someone like, you know we... whatever. Like a friend of ours said we were 'a smart band'. Like that's a great compliment I'd rather be a smart band that a typical band. And then even though beyond that it's like we have all this critcism about our band and our live performance and how I'm coked out of my head it's like I've never even done coke in my life! I won't even touch that! *Justin interrupts* And you know the band that opened before us? Coked out of their mind, playing the worst shittiest music; the drummer sucks, the bass player... the bass playe seriously is like moving when there's no rhythm, they'll break a string and it's like the dude is rocking back and forth to the same tempo."
Justin: And they play like mediocre music that's so formulaic and yet kids freak out for them, cause they're like... they can relate to them. But those are the dudes that do coke every night and that's why there is no creativity in their music.
"And that's why there's not another revolution. Because we have idiots liking... I don't know, whatever."
Justin: Anything.
"That's why we're supposed to be the progressive community, but unfortunetly it's the stupid *** community. You know? It's a drag. That's why I wanna go hang out with dudes who have bazookas and drive around and ****."
Justin: It's like preaching the choir but the choir's deaf and doesn't ****ing matter.
RetiredAt21 12-14-2006 01:26 PM

Whoa, Some Girls are f'ucking stupid.

AIRIC 12-14-2006 01:30 PM
They're the same band!
Wolfpack is better meaning the albums released as Wolfpack are better.

RetiredAt21 12-14-2006 01:32 PM

Didn't they change their name because of Nazis or something?

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2006 01:36 PM

Going by that interview - if Some Girls are "intellectual" - I'd rather be a ****ing moron.

RetiredAt21 12-14-2006 01:39 PM

If you're in a band and you want people to think you're in an "intellectual band" then you are f'ucking gay.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2006 01:40 PM

Mind you this is the same dude responsible for The Locust.

RetiredAt21 12-14-2006 01:42 PM

Yeah, even though I used to like the Locust quite a bit, I still thought that Justin was a major tool. Almost all the bands he's in sound the same.

whiteminority 12-14-2006 01:57 PM
Mind you this is the same dude responsible for The Locust.
The Locust are a good band.

RetiredAt21 12-14-2006 02:02 PM

Moth Eaten Deer Head was the song that got me into them. I haven't listened to that in FOREVER.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2006 02:45 PM

Wow, yeah. I remember that song too. I think I remember liking it.

No but they suck though.

Feel The Darkness 12-14-2006 02:52 PM
Wolfpack is better meaning the albums released as Wolfpack are better.
I know what you mean, but some people tend to say that thinking that they were two different bands. Either way, I disagree. I prefer the stuff they released as Wolfbrigade.
Didn't they change their name because of Nazis or something?
Yeah, they changed it because a WP biker gang, or some shit, was getting more publicity, and so to avoid any problems, they changed their name to Wolfbrigade.

Oh, and, both, the Locust and Some Girls suck.
