Tell me...how freaking amazing is that album? Come on, be honest, there's no point in kidding anyone. How amazing is it?
Well, the last albums that I recall being this addicted to would be Lateralus, Deadwing, and The Sham Mirrors. Three of my top ten favorite albums of all time. Basically what I'm trying to say is that it is one hell of an album. :)

Vince- When are previous winners going to be aloud to win again? Just out of curiosity, because it was mentioned a while back when Jom was running it, and I don't recall you ever putting any input into it, as you had a job/life. :p

Yeah...40 hours a week is killer. I prefer school :-\

I'm going to start considering it one year after it has been going. As it stands I think there is still a great pool of users out there.

P.S. Jason, nice thought but :-\
What the fuck have you been smoking, you dirty hippy?

Okay, for the Squid question, do you want scientific or funny?

And as for a plant, I'm a palm tree, because I'm tall, skinny, with hard skin and huge nuts.
It's for my Mandola, which I have to do for English. Basically there are questions like "What kind of animal are you?" or "what color are you?", etc.

There is also a Sun and shadow thing where you have to think of the opposite animal/color/plant and so on, which is why I asked for the opposite of the squid.

Is it just my computer, or is everyone having trouble quoting things by just clicking on the quick quote button? Actually, it's all the buttons.

Just your computer, mine seems to be working.

Ah ha, slow intenet.

Kingofdudes 10-03-2005 07:47 PM

Does anyone in here know anything about synths? Im thinking of buying one, but I dont know where to start.

magicbus 10-03-2005 07:54 PM

I've never once used the quick reply button.

In fact, I just tried it, and nothing happened.

I have a keyboard, but don't know much about them. My guitar teacher was talking about some really nice synths, which I think were Roland. I could be wrong. Look into them anyway, I guess.

I remember Iron Man uploading that song in this thread a while back. Excellent song. :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-03-2005 08:28 PM

I've only got a broken keyboard. I think all I need to do is get the input jack resoldered, though. Then I'll be able to pull a full on avant-garde extravaganza! :confetti:

Also, does anyone have the new AIM yet? I'm downloading it right now, just to see what real AIM is like.

/has only used Trillian

ATM 10-03-2005 08:47 PM

I don't drink that much, but I smoke a lot of weed.

Hahaha, well I find them listenable...and there's a few good songs. Hurt. March of the pigs. Closer. ... (:p)

Who discusses music on the intraweb? Jeez.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-03-2005 08:52 PM

I know Bobo, geeze gtfo. I mean, all you listen to is this Arcturus crap, and stuff. :p

The synths on Closer are so cool. They're just screaming ORRRRGASM in your face.

Arcturus>>>>>>>>>>>>NIN

You know it's true.

I think NIN is easier to listen to as single songs than albums. Gets to repetitive otehrwise :-\

Yes, NIN does have a few good songs here and there, but after that I don't get the beyond huge freakin' hype about them. So that makes me a little bitter about the band I guess.

I won't even debate that. I am really starting to have obsessions with both bands, but I'd take Arcturus over NIN as it stands now. It'd be so much funner to see Arcturus live, too.

NP Arcturus- Moonshine Delerium

Aaron- That song is so sweet. My favorite from that album is Auditorium of Modern Movements, though.

:h5: for avant-garde!

Let's let the ladies answer that question :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-03-2005 09:47 PM

Garm is also in Ulver, correct?

/adds Ulver to list of music to whore from Bobo once DSL arrives

BoboTheRagingHobo 10-03-2005 09:52 PM

Yes. Garm is also in Ulver and one of the original members as well.

Their music ranges from folk to black metal to ambient to electronica/trip hop. For a band to go through so many genre stages and make them all work beyond excellent is awesome if you ask me.

NP - Gordian Knot - Rivers Dancing

Sean Malone owns on bass, and this band is amazing at making technical music melodic/emotional and beautiful at the same time.

Moses 10-03-2005 10:12 PM

Sometimes the black metal aspect of Ulver is just too black for me you know what I mean? Where it starts becoming painful to listen to.

I love black metal, so I don't know what you mean. :\

Off to play some CS due to being bored out of my freakin' mind.

/me waits for Ray to make comment about "too black for me"

I have to say I prefer Melodic/Symphonic Black metal to just straight Black. Same with Death in most cases, though I love me some Nile.
