I actually once tried straightening my hair, and it took 40 minutes. But that was when my hair was mega-long, and it was the longest my hair'd ever been.

Funny story: I grew my hair for about 18 months, like, the beginning of year 12. That was when all the new people joined my school for sixth form. ANYWAY, when got bored of it and cut it really short like I always used to, in year 13, there was too reactions.

New people: OMG what have you done with your hair?
Old people: Nice! Old-school Gur in da house.

Actually, that was the case like a year ago. It's changed to be floppy-fringes like that AFI guitarist. That seems to be the sceney thing - floppy fringes & a spider web (or similar) tattoo on your elbow. Fags.

I'm actually pretty lucky, my hair grows hella fast. So I'd have maybe a month when it was just a compleate mess, most of the time it'd be up it tiny bunches that half fell out!!

anywho, yesterday @ college i was wearing my Opeth shirt and random guy who was passing me goes:"OPETH!" and does that hand thing us rockers do. then today i was wearing my Dream theater shirt and a different guy went: "DREAM THEATER!" with similar hand signals.
my shirts seem to be prompting more reaction then one would hope.
