Lunch 10-21-2005 07:10 PM

I have Jazz is Dead - Blue Light Rain, I'll get it after the NRPS.

RYM always took forever for me, so I just went with something that worked.
ABB - Eat A Peach
 How dare you not have this! My favorite album of all time ever!

Lunch 10-21-2005 07:13 PM

You have to de-flower the kid.

Glitterati 10-21-2005 07:13 PM
How about Fragile?
That'd be great. Thnx <3

Lunch 10-21-2005 07:19 PM

BigTrav, how much Who do you have? I really wouldn't recommend Who Are You if you are just starting to get into them.

None actually :( My dad has the vinyl, and I've heard of Tommy, so I just listed both of them. And what's this about deflowering me  :p

jpj 10-21-2005 07:21 PM

A Quick One was my first Who album, which I know isn't a common choice, but I love it.

Oh, young one, you have much to learn. I'd say Tommy and Who's Next are your best bets for your first Who album.

I think Who Are You is pretty weak, especially compared to well, all their albums before it. I'd be more interested in Live at Leeds or Who's Next (not a personal recommendation, but a popular choice) long before looking to get Who Are You.

jpj 10-21-2005 07:26 PM

Yea, I find Who's Next to be over rated by the general public, but with big hits like Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again, and Behind Blue Eyes it's pretty good for a start.

NP: Bob Marley-Rat Race (live) I didn't know reggae could be this good.

Glitterati 10-21-2005 07:28 PM
Yea, I find Who's Next to be over rated by the general public, but with big hits like Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again, and Behind Blue Eyes it's pretty good for a start.
Exactly. I got a greatest hits of theirs as a starter, and I grew out of that pretty fast. Then I got Who's Next, and I think it's a great full album.

robo2448 10-21-2005 07:35 PM

Who Are You pretty much sucks compare to anything else they did except the 2 albums after it. Start with Tommy and Who's Next, then get Live At Leeds. Be sure to get the deluxe 2 disc version for Leeds.

Lunch 10-21-2005 07:39 PM

Does anyone want anymore albums while I'm at it?

DeusExMachina 10-21-2005 07:42 PM

I'm gone for under 2 hours, and I have 10 new albums in my email. I love this thread.

jpj 10-21-2005 07:43 PM

Holy shit I have too many albums! I still have like 5 (actually more like 10 now that I think about it) maybe more to listen to, and now there's 5 more in my inbox. Fucking stop, I'm overwhelmed!

Lunch 10-21-2005 07:44 PM
I'm gone for under 2 hours, and I have 10 new albums in my email. I love this thread.
Yea, it's been an album fest tonight, I'm getting all kinds of great stuff.

Haha, and Spirit's s/t is on it's way.

jpj 10-21-2005 07:46 PM

I seriously didn't download this many albums when YSI links were legal.

DeusExMachina 10-21-2005 07:46 PM

Didn't Spirit's s/t get sent out earlier? I know the Arzachel s/t was already sent out.

Lunch 10-21-2005 07:48 PM

I sent it out awhile ago I think, but JohnG requested it and I'm sure some other people didn't get it.

DeusExMachina 10-21-2005 07:49 PM

Ahh. Ok. The QMS self title, this is the second time it's been sent out, right? Sorry if this seems stupid, I'm a bit out of it right now.

Krabsworth 10-21-2005 07:51 PM

Anyone have Hot Rats by Frank Zappa?

Or Weasels Ripped My Flesh?

JonG 10-21-2005 07:52 PM
Ahh. Ok. The QMS self title, this is the second time it's been sent out, right? Sorry if this seems stupid, I'm a bit out of it right now.
That is "Quicksilver", not Quicksilver Messenger Service, they're different.

And I have Hot Rats. Excellent Zappa album.

Lunch 10-21-2005 07:53 PM

Hot Rats was I think the first Zappa album I owned, and yea it's great.

Edit: The two people who responded are in the middle of uploads right now, so we knew what you meant. I might be able to get it if Spirit ever finishes.

Krabsworth 10-21-2005 07:55 PM

I was talking about uploading :upset:

JonG 10-21-2005 07:56 PM

I could, I'm busy with others right now though.

DeusExMachina 10-21-2005 08:17 PM

Wait, what albums are being requested? I'm confused right now.

Lunch 10-21-2005 08:18 PM

I don't know, but I think I just sent out the Spirit s/t. I'm confused.

jpj 10-21-2005 08:19 PM

Yea, you did.

Lunch 10-21-2005 08:23 PM

I uploaded the Rhinoceros s/t for Livewired the other day, so I figured I would send the link to everyone. They're a cool band, check it out.

Glitterati 10-21-2005 08:24 PM

In other news, Dick Dale rules.

/is listening to Miserlou

Seafroggys 10-21-2005 09:30 PM

Dick Dale is truly awesome guitarist. Practically all these death metal heads nowadays rip off his style, except they add so much distortion you can hardly make out the brilliant music that he originated.

Here's what you do: just stop it!

But actually I like some punk. The Dead Kennedys kick major ass, as well as The Minutemen, and proto-punk is good now and again. Oh, and the Violent Femmes (post-punk) are great, awesome bass player.

Hey, what's your avatar?

jpj 10-21-2005 09:45 PM
Hey, what's your avatar?
The cover of Eat a Peach, but the peach has been turned into a pumpkin for Halloween, hence "Eat a Pumpkin."

We're gonna have to de-flower you too for not knowing.

I think it's somehat making fun of the Allman Brother's album 'Eat a Peach' by having the avatar having a pumpkin and being called 'Eat a Pumpkin.'

Oops...jpj just said that before me.
