Aww shit:upset:

It would never happen to Metallica though, all the band members seem so stable now.
That's cos Axl is a fuckin' Maniac.

2muchket! 02-27-2006 01:48 PM

Grr Axl reall does annoy me, no doubt Chinese Dmeocracy will suck.

Anyway bcak to 'tallica I just hope it isn't as repetative as St Anger

Jev 02-27-2006 02:28 PM

Now now, we won't know until it comes out

but you're probably right

I have compiled a list of reasons why this album won't suck.

- No more Jason. I do believe that guy created a lot of unhealthy tension in the band that is only good to be rid of.

- Robert. A fresh face. Also now the perspective of a fan now has some influence in Metallica's album making.

- No more Bob. A fresh producer was needed. I think Frederick is the best man for the job.

- No more issues between James / Lars, that were apparent in SKOM. James said himself, that the interpersonal issues within the band sucked creativity out of himself and Metallica. Yes, he said it.

- The band surely knows how well received St Anger was. I think they will want to redeem themselves.

- If anyone remembers, Kirk described what they are playing around with in the studio as "Jurassic Metal". Whether he was joking or not, I'd say that is a good sign.

- I remember reading somewhere that Lars says that James is back in control of all the lyrics. I think St Anger's lyrics sucked, and I'm sure a lot of you will agree.

- Lars said himself, he wants the next album to sound "warmer". This will mean better production.

- James is now clean. I think this'll mean he'll be more focused and efficient at his work.

- Kirk promised there will be soloes.

Need I say more? This album will kick so much metal up your ass it won't even be funny.

BLS_Infernus 02-27-2006 02:43 PM

The new producer is Rick Rubin btw. Everyone did the lyrics on St. Anger. Even that Phil guy.

I'm betting that the next album will be in the top 5 of there best.
The new producer is Rick Rubin.
His real name is Frederick Rubin, look it up :p

This is going to be the first album in which James is no longer a raging alcoholic. It should be interesting.

ever eeking always rupert 02-27-2006 02:49 PM

I don't think any of Phil's lyrics were actually on the album, were they?

I don't recall hearing "I killed the boogeyman" anywhere on St. Anger :p

Jev 02-27-2006 02:52 PM

It just felt awkward when watching Phil tell them about his lyrics. It was like a dad trying to participate in something his son is interested in.

James took the lryics and then turn his back on him

Kirk seems to just hang around, read mag.s and get caught in a riff.

Quickdrop 02-27-2006 03:01 PM

Personally i'm disappointed Jason isnt with the band anymore, he was always my favorite. He had a great stage presence too.

Oh well, the fact that guitar Solos will be back is enough for me to being looking forward to this!

Jev 02-27-2006 03:03 PM

For some reason I never liked Jason. He didn't seem to belong.

BLS_Infernus 02-27-2006 03:07 PM

Jesus man, I've been to a few shows and god could you tell that they loved to pick on Jason. They did everything to him. Beer in his face or cream pie. Pick on him over the mic. It was like a frat house or something and Jason was the joinie.

I doubt it. All there albums since re-load have gotten worse by the CD...i hope it's good though but i can't see it. Mettalica aren't half as good as they used to be.

What? All their CDs since Reload. You do realise that's basically St Anger and a bunch of covers?
To me, it was downhill from MOP.

PepsiMetal 02-27-2006 03:24 PM

Where's the producer of AJFA, Mop, etc.. Why didn't they just ask him to produce this record too?

Rasmuss something? Or am I thinking something completely different. lol

Jev 02-27-2006 03:28 PM

Flemming Rasmussen I believe.

Garage Inc and another one after that. And then St Anger.

Yeah S&M. S&M was brilliant.

Clunge 02-27-2006 03:51 PM

I got S&M a couple of days ago and it really is good.

The DVD or the CD?

Clunge 02-27-2006 03:58 PM
The DVD or the CD?
CD - I've seen most of the footage though on TV and the net.

Jev 02-27-2006 04:00 PM

Yeah that's still cool. I've been promising myself I'll get the DVD for ages.

Clunge 02-27-2006 04:02 PM

I've just got back into Metallica recently, used to love them when I was about 13. I listened to the Black Album in full yesterday and I rally enjoyed it

oohh, 10pm = Have I Got News For You

I think he fitted better than Rob anyway. That guy sticks out like a sticky thingy

Bazarov 02-27-2006 04:40 PM

Yet Rob is a talented bass player.

GenuineImitation 02-27-2006 04:56 PM
Yet Rob is a talented bass player.
Jason is talented also. Not as much as Rob though.

BLS_Infernus 02-27-2006 04:59 PM

Lets face it. Cliff was the best and will always be the best for Metallica. Hell 85% of bass players wouldn't have picked up bass if not for Cliff.

Jason was more of a 3rd guitarist in my view.

Rod has an actual bass sound.

Aw3someman 02-27-2006 05:01 PM

Jason had a sweet stage presence though. I have yet to see Rob but i've heard he's pretty good.

BLS_Infernus 02-27-2006 05:08 PM
Jason had a sweet stage presence though. I have yet to see Rob but i've heard he's pretty good.
Rob's stage presence IMHO is on par with Jason. Jason is a crazy MF'er and Rob is a wild man. As far as stage presence goes Cliff gets the gold. Watching videos of him just makes you stay glued to that crazy ****er.
