We ran out of bands to talk about :(
|
Talk about Neil Young or......................................the Allman Brothers. (anyone remember those days?)
|
^
I guess we've hit a new low, looks like we'll just have to start disscusing Glam Metal or somthing. |
The Beatles thread, Floyd thread, and CR thread are basically all I go to here, and the first two haven't been posted in in days.
I'm starting to move from the R&M forum though. The Other Music thread is much more hospitable, and open for any discussion. But let's still try to keep our threads going in here. |
We should discuss classic rock artist's kids? Do any of you listen to their music?
|
Like Jacob Dylan and The Wallflowers? I have their cd, but I never listen to it.
Who else can you think of? |

I've heard Zack Starkey on the new Who songs...
I know julian lennon has some albums but I have heard them. |
That's a really good album. The remaster I bought had 10 bonus tracks and 13 normal tracks. I think they went a little overboard.
They didn't go overboard, those were all cuts from the recording process. It's not like those tracks weren't good enough to make it, I find them just as good (better in some cases) than tracks on the album. I'm really glad they put that stuff on there. |

Really, I mean the more songs the better. I'm really digging this album. :D |
I finally made my list on RYM, after months of post-poning it. Does this make me cool?

I'm glad you like it, I often prefer it to later Who stuff. After listening to all the bonus tracks, you can tell me where my user title comes from (no, it wasn't just a lame play on the Tommy lyric).
JPJ, I'm not sure anything could make you cool. Don't worry, it's hopeless for me too. |
RE: Classic Rock
Rush is the best in my eyes

FUCK! But look there's 222 on the list, that's gotta count for something. :upset: |
So what does everyone think of the Os Mutantes?
|
Rush is the best in my eyes
Rush is good. Them, Leonard Cohen, and Neil Young make up the triumvirate of good Canadian classic rock (in my opinion) . |

The vocals annoyed me, but the music was great. |

I got used to vocals after awhile. |
Sometimes they are fine, and other times they bother me. It's not like the ruin the album for me though, I can still listen to it.

Same here. I didn't like Tom Waits at first because of that, but now I love him. I saw one of Neil Young's early '80s music videos the other day. It was when he did his rockabilly/country phase. |
I read a whole article in the Rolling Stone about it, but now I can't remember who was in it.
rufus wainwright, otis redding III, jerry garcias daughter, elijah blue allman, james taylor's son, the richards daughters, the lennon son whos not julian (forgot his name), paul simon's son, art garfunkel's son and those were all the ones i can remember from the article. i listen to rufus but his dads more folk than rock. i suppose we could include him though. |
Has anyone seen the music video for Sean Lennon's version of Dear Prudance he did when he was like 15? (it was in 1990 I believe).......I have!
|
Has anyone else noticed a huge decline in our (the Classic Rock community) involment in R&M? Even the Beatles and Pink Floyd threads are struggling. Not that we are but lately I feel as though we're getting more and more alienated away from R&M by the day.
It sucks how I had to join the the downfall, wish I would have accidentally clicked on the "forum" button before. So I haven't seen any talk of Queen, any one like them? |
I posted this in the R&M YSI thread (yes, the one that isn't as good as the other two), but it would probably have more success in here. Can someone upload:
Simon and Garfunkel - The Boxer Actually if anyone can send me/YSI Bridge Over Troubled Water it would be greatly appreciated, but just that one track would be great. |
I could, 'tis gonna take some time though
