Metalcore is a hybrid of metal and hardcore son. Therefore Zombie Apocalypse is metalcore, holy damn.
New hardcore has some metal influence on the guitars but is still just hardcore.

Metallica have some Misfits influences but you don't call them punk, do you?

Iceman-rocker 11-09-2007 12:03 PM

yeah i do. old metallica was more thrash metal/punk influenced.

also, no matter what bands are of "higher calliber" parkway drive is still a solid band.

masscows 11-09-2007 12:09 PM

Metallica invented thrash brah

Iceman-rocker 11-09-2007 12:15 PM

lawl. no they didnt.
they just happened to popularize it.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 02:49 PM

 you called Parkway Drive solid and took that seriously.

Metallica's my favorite punk band bro.

LifeInABox 11-09-2007 03:53 PM

Yeah gice, Metallica's Black Album and Megadeths' Unitd Abominations invented thrash lol. I also like of heavyier stuff like Bullet For My Valentine (Metalcore/Death Metal with grind influences I think) and occasionally if I'm in the mood ill listen to some Evergreen Terrace cause they get me so pumped lol

i am the robots 11-09-2007 04:12 PM

That's all punk what the hell, stfu about subgenres.

albert_bass 11-09-2007 06:51 PM

So good. If you're into the early metalcore type sound, you'll definitely love 7A7P. It's so good, seriously.

i am the robots 11-10-2007 12:08 AM

I sent you 7A7P. :)

NemesisDivina 11-10-2007 12:14 AM
I sent you 7A7P. :)
Yeah you did, I'm pretty glad too. Silent Deaths, Crowded Lives is such a fantastic song. In fact the only song that I find a bit lacking is Dandelion, I really dislike the beginning of it, it seems really choppy and unrehearsed, I don't know.

i am the robots 11-10-2007 01:01 AM

Its just that opening line. They always fall for the smell of dandelion. It sucks lol.

Until The Day Breathes And The Shadows Flee was released in 2000.
Jhazmyne's Lullaby was released in 2001.

I like the vocalist on UTDBATSF better than the one on Jhazmyne's Lullay.

At least listen to Cannot Die.

Concubine 11-10-2007 04:59 AM

k i'll listen to it in a bit

DJTeeLay 11-10-2007 08:30 AM

I just got into August Burns Red recently after the guitarist in my hand let me borrow a copy of "Messengers."

Not-half bad.
Generic, but good.

I also recall Parkway Drive receiving a large amount of piss in here.
They're even more generic than ABR, but I still like them.

4yearpro? 11-10-2007 11:40 AM

i'd prefer parkway drive over them because ABR just has way too many breakdowns in each song

LifeInABox 11-10-2007 12:41 PM

August Burns Red's demo, and Thrill Seeker are both really good, regardless of genericism. They're great live too. Parkway Drive's vocals are so terrible though, I just can't listen to them.
k i'll listen to it in a bit
What'd you think boy?

i think theyre both pretty good. parkway drive's vocals can be annoying at times, but they are pretty good instrumentally, and so is ABR.
