 |

Pretty much. Guys I have been meaning to look into Pagan Altar. Recommend an album or two that I should obtain by them please. Any Funeral Doom recommendations would also be welcomed. /needs moar Doom. |
Pagan Altar only have 3 albums I think. I've heard Mythical and Magical and Volume I. Mythical and Magical is the better album (check out the tracks The Erl King and Samheim)
For Funeral Doom check out Ahab, Sceptisism and Thergothon if you haven't already. For more doom recomendations: Against Nature and Reverend Bizarre have been getting alot of plays this week for me. |
Thank you. I'll look into that stuff, though I'm already quite a fan of Reverend Bizarre.
|
I used to be turned off by the songlength but after trying them again I really started to like them.
NP: Against Nature - Alogos |
In Funeral Doom, I've listened to Skepticism, Ahab and Worship.
The only one I really liked is Skepticism. |
Wormphlegm
they have a hilarious name and are about as funeral and as doom as you can get |
Mournful Congregation.
|
I am currently downloading the latest Reverend Bizarre album because it looks sweet, although it is insanely long.
|
Eh, it's not worth the listen tbh. It's my least favorite of their releases.
|
It's too freaking long.
|
What release would you say is best?
|
I only have In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend, but that one is superb.
|
Yea I downloaded the latest Reverend Bizzare and it's way too long.
|
In the Rectory is fantastic. II:Crush the Insects, Harbinger of Metal, and Return to the Rectory are all worth.
|
Mournful Congregation.
I actually have reputation amongst friends as being obsessed with The Monad Of Creation. It's brilliant. And thanks again guys, what you've suggested should keep me busy for a little while. |
Just downloaded Loss's Life Without Hope... Death Without Reason. Any fans of them?
|
Never heard of them tbqh.
|

re-recorded one of the songs, new stuff in it check it if you feel like it :) |
So Loss's Life Without Hope... Death Without Reason is really ****ing good. Despite having really lame songtitles, it's incredibly depressing and down-tempoed, with some sick vocals. And contrary to the majority of the funeral doom genre, it's not boring at all.

Return to the Rectory is a different album? I got some superspecial edition of In The Rectory with that cd as a bonus. Should get around to checking that shiz out. |
Any fans of Moho?
|

It's a bonus EP, yeah.
This was planned to be an EP called Reverend Bizarre Blesses You With Fire but is featured as a bonus CD on the second In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend re-issue. The release also features a video of "Doom Over The World". Track 4 is an extra track from the recordings of "Harbinger of Metal". Backing vocals on track 6 by Master Demonos Sova of Barathrum.
|
Just downloaded Mournful Congregation's The Dawning of Mournful Hymns. Been getting into a little more funeral doom, so I shall try this out.
|
Any fans of Moho?
love them. |

It's reasonably good, but TMOC leaves it for dead. |
love them.
I think we've had this conversation before :p |
