if anyone likes 'space rock' (lame term) you should check out sula bassana. actually has a really 'spacey' sound on alot of tracks. other songs with vocals are real good pink floyd-ish rock.

Morumbar 03-02-2010 01:59 PM

Just discovered Meniscus. Pretty good stuff.

Nepenthe 03-02-2010 02:09 PM

ive got absence of i but ive never listened to it the cover art looked really boring and turned me away for some reason

Morumbar 03-02-2010 02:13 PM

I agree with you on the cover art, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Nepenthe 03-02-2010 04:26 PM

man the theremin usage by sula bassana is awesome

Nepenthe 03-07-2010 11:29 PM

theres some good **** on the world comes to an end split. ethereal beauty is greatness.

Jaundice 03-08-2010 12:37 AM

Nepenthe 03-08-2010 12:45 AM

Jaundice 03-08-2010 12:48 AM

Any of you fags here like Heroin and Your Veins? They sound like if Bohren and Der Club of Gore made Post Rock.

Sup, Berkay?

Ventriloquist 03-08-2010 08:23 AM

That sounds amazing, need to check it out. I'm finally going to listen to Seven Nautical Miles in a bit.

Good stuff, but never listened much. Guess I will now or something. :p

Txus 03-08-2010 09:18 AM

Yeah, I figured you would like them, Rid. Really good late night music.

And tell me what you think about SNM, Murat.

rid 03-08-2010 09:41 AM

Yep, might start listening to this quite a bit now. :p :)

Ventriloquist 03-08-2010 03:11 PM

I ****ing love that album. Splendor and Concealment <333333333 It's on my Blood Meridian playlist along with earth, grails, the gentleman losers, townes van zandt, SVT etc.

the pen is mightier 03-09-2010 01:08 PM

I'm looking for some more good post-metal/post-rock bands. I love stuff like Russian Circles, Mastodon, Baroness, and Boris. I've tried stuff like Isis, but the vocals always put me off. Instrumental would be best, though I can stomach some decent metal vocals. Just none of that cheesy screaming stuff.

Any suggestions?

Ventriloquist 03-09-2010 06:12 PM

Instrumental

Pelican - Australasia

Not Instrumental

Neurosis - A Sun That Never Sets
The Psyke Project - Dead Storm
Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along the Highway
Mouth of the Architect - Time and Withering
Year of No Light - Nord

These should be enough for now.

Ventriloquist 03-10-2010 04:48 PM

Just back from the Katatonia + Long Distance Calling gig. LDC was so good. I bought Avoid the Light vinyl and met with the bassist and one of the guitarists. They were such good guys. Ugh I wish they were headlining.

Scoot 03-10-2010 04:55 PM

Russian Circles are pretty good as well.
