Right now I'm listening to Oktober' Tide - Rain Without End, damn, why did they break up?
Such a great band.
It reminds me a lot of advanced Brave Murder Day writing style.
So damn sweet and the vocals, oh man..

Renske is one of my favorite vocalists ever. His work on Dance Of December Souls is quite possibly the greatest harsh vocals of all time. Shame they put that generic growler Akerfeldt on Brave Murder Day.

Akerfeldt is pretty good in Opeth, buthe sounds too clean for Katatonia.
Renske didsuch a greatjob with powerfull, emotive vocals on DoDS.
A bit more rough and full of emotion, yes.
Renske is high in my list of favorite vocalists. I really enjoy the way he's singing now too, but still woldn't it be great if they recorded another doom/death album? We can always hope.:(

Finally someone who agrees with me about Akerfeldt and Renske! I always try to explain how much better Renske's tortured screams fit in with the old Katatonia atmosphere than Mikael's clean growls.

I'm a big fan of Boris and Electric Wizard... Boris was one of the best live acts I've ever seen; they're really uptempo at times for a doom/stoner metal band.

Boris' uptempo parts are what make them so cool, like in Hama. The awesome drone parts just add to it.

Favorite Boris? Mine is Heavy Rocks and Rainbow.

I've never been in love with Boris, they make some good music, but nothing I'd get all over about.

Very good doom/death/dark metal.
It's just so dark and mysterious and then out of noewherethere's an explosion with growled tortured vocals.
They pull it off very well, I love it.

Any love for them?

i don't know them, so i can't say... i neither heard anything by boris...

I like Boris alot. Most of the time I listen to the more stoner/psychedelic albums, but when I listen to drone it most of the time them. The thing Which Solomon Overlooked is great.
Favorite album overal is Heavy Rocks.

Yep, I'm a fan of Dolorian. They're a pretty decent band.

I was never a big fan of Boris, although I must admit I haven't heard much of their stuff.
