I wonder how many people bashing Graves are only doing it to sound more tr00 and l33t.
I wonder how many people bashing Graves are only doing it to sound more tr00 and l33t.
and i wonder how many just think that he didn't fit the band and didn't possess the songwriting skills that danzig had.

Steerpike 11-01-2005 12:35 PM

I think people over-glorify Danzig. The Misfits was his first band. Personally, I thought he did his best work in Samhain and his solo career.

To tell you the truth, it seems most people just wave Graves off because they can't come to terms with the fact that Danzig moved on to bigger projects. They don't want to enjoy Graves-era Misfits, so they completely overlook every positive quality of those albums.

insalubrious 11-01-2005 12:47 PM

obsequious wretch

Steerpike 11-01-2005 12:50 PM

American Psycho was fantastic and I'll never believe otherwise. It's true, people don't want to like Graves.

RetiredAt21 11-01-2005 03:06 PM

I liked Famous Monsters better. I think Danzig's best work was in Samhain.

blackflagfiend 11-01-2005 03:18 PM

Danzigs music was more organized and mature in samhain, true. Your also probably right that Graves is also very talented too and we should take the time to listen to the albums he made with the misfits, but i just dont like the concept of those albums. The misfits are now more metal than they are punk but they are not a crossover band either (like D.R.I.). they reunited for money and they got even more commercial success than they did when danzig was in the band, thus making them sellouts thus making me avoid the newfits. all in all, i dont HATe their new music, i just hate the concept of it

HOLY SHI'T!!!!

When did you come back?

RetiredAt21 11-01-2005 03:26 PM

I too was surprised when I saw him post.

Oz Rembrandt 11-01-2005 03:34 PM

I liked Graves, I just liked Danzig more.

Misfit_Fiend 11-01-2005 04:38 PM

They need to officially change their name to the Onlyfit or the Misflags

Who's with me

Steerpike 11-01-2005 04:41 PM

You know what the funny thing is? The Brazilian power metal band Angra ditched four of their musicians at once a few years back. And very few people bitched. Very few people started saying the band needed to change their name, or stop making music altogether.

that's because nobody gives a s'hit about brazilian power metal.

DrGolovaCroxby 11-01-2005 07:44 PM
HOLY SHI'T!!!!

When did you come back?
DrGolovaCroxby 11-01-2005 07:45 PM
I liked Graves, I just liked Danzig more.
and finally, 123.

RetiredAt21 11-01-2005 10:24 PM

People BARELY even care about power metal. It's WAAAAAY too cheesy for me.

Culture Shock 11-01-2005 10:31 PM

I'm not really mad that I will wait exactly one year until I will listen to The Misfits again.

Steerpike 11-01-2005 11:17 PM
People BARELY even care about power metal. It's WAAAAAY too cheesy for me.
Tell it to the rest of R&M.

TheNowhereman42 11-01-2005 11:28 PM

I made fun of like 11 or 12 kids dressed up in misfits things last night. Except one who was hot and gave me candy.

RetiredAt21 11-02-2005 12:55 AM

Power metal is cheesy. No one can deny it.

Steerpike 11-02-2005 01:02 AM
Power metal is cheesy. No one can deny it.
Your point?

DrGolovaCroxby 11-02-2005 01:08 AM
Your point?
his point was that a man can only take so much cheese.

Steerpike 11-02-2005 01:22 AM

You're talking to a man who listens to Rhapsody.

The_Riddler 11-02-2005 01:31 AM
Power metal is cheesy. No one can deny it.
I listen to power metal quite a bit. Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards, Nightwish..none of it is really cheesy to me..but to each his own.

I always have liked Graves, I never cared which vocalist was in Misfits from the start since I haven't followed them until about 2 years ago. My favorite vocalist from the band is Graves followed by Danzig then Only. It really doesn't matter which vocalist is on which cd, they are all great to me.

RetiredAt21 11-02-2005 01:46 AM

Too much cheese will give any man a nasty case of the squirts.

TakeWarning 11-02-2005 03:30 AM

I don't mind Graves, I just think Danzig's better.

Steerpike 11-02-2005 08:19 AM
Too much cheese will give any man a nasty case of the squirts.
Again, you are talking to a man who listens to Rhapsody.

yeah i have got to aggree with you there its like these guys are stuck in the 1970s early 80s and still think danzig is the big thing, famous monsters was a great album and the vocals were done by none other than graves, So get positive and Get up to date things ave changed stop going on about it!

RetiredAt21 11-02-2005 08:58 AM

I take it that Rhapsody is the cheesiest of the cheesy?

Steerpike 11-02-2005 09:04 AM
I take it that Rhapsody is the cheesiest of the cheesy?
Let me put it this way, their breakthrough album was called Symphony of Enchanted Lands and the big song off that was Emerald Sword.

RetiredAt21 11-02-2005 09:18 AM

Hahahahaha, wow.

misfitsfan1990 11-03-2005 08:58 AM

Hey im really intrested to know what you guys favorite misfits songs are i will start with my new favorite - Astro Zombies (in case you are intrested it used to be last caress)

Steerpike 11-03-2005 10:56 AM

An hot 11 or 12 year old?

Mr.Shankly 11-03-2005 11:57 AM

Personally i think the misfits are over-rated. A generic punk band with some darker lyrics.

RetiredAt21 11-03-2005 01:20 PM

Danzig Era - Die Die My Darling
Graves Era - Scream

Oz Rembrandt 11-03-2005 03:51 PM

Scream or Saturday Night are my favourite Graves era songs I think...

As for Danzig. I love Last Caress, Hybrid Moments, Bullet and Attitude to name a few off one album...
