Municipal Waste
Beer soaked circle pit inducing pure thrash mayhem that will bring out the 80's crossover monster in you. The reviews are pouring in and writers and fans alike are hailing their latest album, Hazardous Mutation as one of Earache's greatest releases yet! Think Municipal Waste are just another band trying to recapture the glory of yesterday? Check out what Exclaim magazine had to say about just that, "Unlike some bands that get lost in layers of ironic retro vibe, this is from the heart and that comes through plain and clear on Hazardous Mutation." Never have a band captured blistering fast radical party thrash on an album so well as Municipal Waste have with Hazardous Mutation. Join in on the boogie board mosh train. Earache Records.

Annihilation Time
They''re baaaaaaacck!! South California degenerate drug-punkers, Annihilation Time leaves the Black Flag and Bl'ast! worship of their previous releases in a burning van somewhere between the desert and the Pacific Ocean and return with a record influenced heavily by the Stooges, Alice Cooper, and early Deep Purple yet staying true to their hardcore punk roots which lie with Black Flag and early cult bands such as Ill Repute, Sick Pleasure or the Germs. With the addition of new guitarist Shaun Filley (Gordon Solie Mother****ers), Annihilation Time found the missing link in creating their over-the-top sound, combining snotty 80''s hardcore with vicious 70''s proto-punk. Manic Ride Recordings.

Is thrash related to grind in any way?

Apocalyptic Raids 06-03-2006 04:10 AM

Umm, not paticularly. Although Repulsion are pretty thrashy I guess.

I'm not really an expert on grind though.
Municipal Waste and Annihilation Time July 15th, I can't wait.
i badly want to see the Waste live :(

Depends the bands, but there are some crossover bands with the genres, but most of the time, they're just Power Violence/Fastcore bands.

His idea of grind is not your idea of grind.

For him, the answer is no, not at all.

RetiredAt21 06-03-2006 11:49 AM

Repulsion and Brutal Truth are grind/thrash.

Are you talking about me?

Apocalyptic Raids 06-04-2006 06:34 AM

Yes, he is.

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 06:12 AM

His idea of grind is probably s'hit like the Locust and TN12LLY.
His idea of grind is probably s'hit like the Locust and TN12LLY.
No more like The Red Chord and Glass Casket.

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 07:37 AM

ROFL. You're still pretty dumb, neither of them are grind. Why don't you try some of these bands:

Assuck
Phobia
Nasum
Vincent Price's Orphan Powered Death Machine
Penile Suffocation
Cattle Decapitation
Pig Destroyer

Those are REAL grind bands. Check them out if you're not an idiot.

Tjebby 06-06-2006 12:23 PM

Glass Casket isn't even that good.

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 01:47 PM

No, they're not really. They get old sorta quick.

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 01:53 PM

Yeah, I know what started grind.

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 02:00 PM

Who do you think started grind?

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 02:17 PM

Basically Napalm Death, Godfless, Terrorizer, Pig Destroyer. Probably some of the bands you posted, you're so cool.

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 02:19 PM

I know.

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 02:24 PM

And REAL grind- is slowly converging with death metal.

Left Shoe 06-06-2006 02:27 PM

because we trust your opinion

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 02:32 PM

It's not an opinion. LOOK IT UP. They started out being two distinct genres and then started becoming one like some of the bands today.

Left Shoe 06-06-2006 02:53 PM

yeah ok sure...pffff

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 06:15 PM

Not all modern grind sounds like death metal. Actually, hardly any of it sounds like death metal, you're just a moron.

Times Ten 06-06-2006 07:18 PM
And REAL grind- is slowly converging with death metal.
Would you be so kind as to stop spewing bullshit out of your mouth, thanks? Also, Pig Destroyer did not help start grind. They formed in 1997.

RetiredAt21 06-06-2006 07:20 PM

He's one of the dumbest n00bs we've ever had post here.

I didn't say all modern grind sounds like death metal.

Okay sorry, they were "pioneers" compared to most grind bands.

I wouldn't mind him too much if he would drop this know-it-all bullshit act.
I wouldn't mind him too much if he would drop this know-it-all bullshit act.
"Know-it-all bull****?" That's pretty much everyone on this forum. Let's just say- people have different opinions.
If everyone would just forget about fighting about genres so much maybe someone could take a second to actually listen to their favorite music.

Times Ten 06-06-2006 08:37 PM

You were fighting about genres two posts ago.

Matt? 06-06-2006 08:37 PM

no fact and oppinion are two different things. what you think is untrue, you somehow convinced yourself that your ideas about hardcore are the true ones when you listen to very little if any.

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 08:43 PM
You were fighting about genres two posts ago.
Yeah I was. I didn't say that I'm innocent. For the most part I'm defending myself but I still shouldn't be.

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 08:44 PM
no fact and oppinion are two different things. what you think is untrue, you somehow convinced yourself that your ideas about hardcore are the true ones when you listen to very little if any.
Hardcore isn't all the same as it used to be.

Matt? 06-06-2006 08:45 PM

dude you make it out like hardcore just died out and was replaced by these cheesey *** metal bands

tytothebenj 06-06-2006 08:59 PM
dude you make it out like hardcore just died out and was replaced by these cheesey *** metal bands
Well most people here think that hardcore is just hardcore punk. Hardcore is an influence.
It's made up of two words:

Hard- heavy
Core- the center

So it's heavy in the center. You happy?

Times Ten 06-06-2006 09:03 PM
