I like to listen to ascendancy when i go to sleep, it's a good cd for that.

Trivium is what got me into metal also...I used to be into punk and even...rap :(, but then i heard Like Light To The Flies and thought...that was freaking amazing! Since then Ive started to listen to more metal and hardcore and yeah...i like it.

As far as who is better Matt or Corey... I think It'd have to be Matt Heafy. I mean they are both amazing but Matt's solo on Like light to Flies is faster and i just seem to like it better BUT I think Corey can shred better than Mattand he's a little more technical, like on Pull Harder...I think theyre best song is Dying in your arms probably becasue i can play all of itbecuase all their other solos are really fast and...im not =/ but yeah...Trivium is amazing, hence the username ;)

I hate dying in your arms, so dumb, it's the black sheep of the album, I'm not gonna call it a filler, cause i don't think it is, but it just sounds nothing like them.

I didnt mean to say i like it, i was just saying that its alot easier than everything else on the album. Sorry about the misunderstanding. My favorite song on ascendency would have to be the decieved (spelling?) but a gunshot to the head of trepidation is pretty cool also...

oh ok, My Fav song off of ascendancy has to Drowned and torn asunder, and My fave off of ETI has to be either my hatred or when all the light dies.

I've heard a lot of good things about this band, and i have wanted to check them out a lot time ago, but i always forget it. Now that im listening your comments im eager of checking them out. Im downloading some of their songs tight now to check them out. Hopefully i'll like them. Wish me luck :thumb:

Is this band any good? Im really into metal, is Trivium more into the metal side of rock or is it, no offense to anyone, like that screamo **** thats plastured everywhere? My friend recomends them, but hes known to like crap from time to time. So I would like an honest opinion, and an album recomendation would be nice as well. Are they along the lines of Lamb of God and Shadows Fall, or are they totally different? thanks

they are along the lines of lamb og god and shadows fall, but they have melodic chruses, dueling guitars, and great drumming(not saying those bands don't)

And they also have great solos, I'm not sure if you meant that by dueling guitars or if you just meant in the verses and stuff.

And Daven, like light to the flies is a great solo, especially the solo in it. they have really emotional solos in all their songs, but they can shred a bit too.

matt heafy the lead singer screams verses, but has an amazing and catchy singing voice for chorus's. The screaming grows on you. If you dont like it, the amazing instrumentals compensate.

but yeah, they're the band that got me into harsh vox. Now i listen i COB and LOG and a bunch of other bands with harsh vocals. They opened up a whole new world of music for me. :)

I would kill to see them live. They're coming for ozzfest, but it's on a f[size=2]ucking tuesday[/size]. :angry: So even if I went after school, I would miss all the bands I want to see(mastodon,trivium, arch enemy), and see the mainstage :shrug:

People always talk about how much they suck and that they're overrated and it's all BS.
They have fantastic guitarists, and amazing drummer, you can't really hear the bass but the only thing they fall a bit short on is singing, we know matt can SING so why does he always scream?

I just picked up their cd "ascendency" this week. It's sucha great CD, it's really awesome from beginning to finish. My favourite track right now would definetly be Pull Harder on the String of You Martyr, it's freaken wicked. At first when I started getting into metal, I didn't dig the screaming vocals, but I somehow adapted to them, and now love screaming. I love bands like Shadows Fall, CoB, LoG, Unearth etc. AND OF COURSE TRIVIUM! Heh, yeah they are really great. Really awesome music.

I think I'm going to reserve my judgement on these guys until the next album still and see how they perform, but they've definately got my support for live shows. I've now seen them live twice (Download and Roadrage), both times they've pulled everything out of the bag and completely thrashed and trashed the audience completely.

trivium are an awesome band had the album 4 bout 3 weeks and im luvin it yeh its a bit simillar to some stuff like killswitch engage and avenged sevenfold but there is no way u can diss any band cos they sound a bit simillar to another (personally i think they soud different but i listen to a lot of this genre) ive heard so many people slaggin this band off tht i get pretty pissed of wiv em its absolutely gr8 and ascendancy i think is a must hav album

not me, I love how they like duel with their guitars, you can hear it well in suffocating sight. I think matt plays the first part of his solo, the corey plays a wah solo, and then matt finishes his solo. awesome :thumb:

I saw them tonight in San Diego, and what I really love is how they respect their fans. On their website, their pictures page is full of pictures with fans, and they were out after Mudvayne (headliner) played, selling t-shirts and meeting fans. I met Matt Heafy and I gained a lot of respect for them tonight. They're obviously not trying to be bigger than the music.

Anyway, Trivium are probably my favourite band at the moment, along with Chimaira, gotta love a nice bit o' metal :D
