I've never really been captured by any Incubus I have heard.

What would be a good range of songs to try listening to for a relative newbie to Incubus?

Redifine
Certain Shade Of Green.
Vitamin
Calogne
Summer Romance
New Skin
Glass

Make Yourself
Nowhere Fast
Stellar
Pardon Me
The Warmth
Clean
Drive
When It Comes

Morning View
Circles
Mexico
Nice To Know You
Just A Phase
Echo
I wish You Were Here
Have You Ever

A Crow Left Of The Murder
Sick Sad Little World
Agoraphobia
Talk Shows On Mute
Pistola
Priceless
Melegomaniac

That is a good summary of songs to check out from all there albums.

I recommend: You will be a Hot Dancer, Hilikus, Sink Beneath The Line (Fungus Amongus). Deep Inside, Calgone, Anti-gravity Love Song (S.C.I.E.N.C.E). The Warmth, Nowhere Fast, Drive (Make Yourself). Circles, Just a Phase , Aqueous Transmission (Morning View). Sick, Sad, Little World, A Crow Left of The Murder, Talk Shows on Mute (A Crow Left of The Murder).
That should be enough for you to get to know the band. This variety of songs will show you how much Incubus changes their style through their albums. :thumb:

Last week I got my first Incubus album. It was Morning View. Major thumbs up. I'm picking up another by the end of this week.

And I agree.

My first album was Morning View as well, followed by S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

Does anyone know of any tour dates coming up?

smashingalice88 05-10-2005 08:24 PM

not heard that often ,,, but circles is a good song by them

Deth 05-11-2005 08:40 AM

Their big tour is over, so rest is probably in session.

I noticed the sameless bump by the way.

Sleeper 05-11-2005 10:39 AM

Yeh i heard they were in the studio recording, not sure for what though.

Sticky-Fingers Mahoney 05-15-2005 11:07 AM

they are recording i think 3 songs for the movie stealth.
then they are recording a soundtrack for a surf documentary.

Janitor 05-15-2005 11:16 AM

They already recorded the songs for the soundtrack, make a move has already been released.

Sleeper 05-15-2005 11:50 AM

Has anyone heard the songs yet?

Iai 05-15-2005 12:29 PM
Does anyone know of any tour dates coming up?
They're playing Reading Festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend. I can tell you that much.

Janitor 05-15-2005 12:31 PM

Make A Move sounds like Audioslave, but it's better than Audioslave's new songs are. The only part that really sounds really Incubus is the bridge, which is awesome (Ben seems to be settling in nicely). Overall it's an average song, but it's made specifically for the movie, so it'll probably sound better when seen with the specific scene it was written for.

The other songs haven't been released yet, but some people have heard them. Niether of Us Can See is a duet with Chrissie Hynde (I think that's her name) and it's good, I hear. Admiration is the other song and it's supposed to be for an emotional scene and it has an awesome chorus.

Looks like a interestng video, Reminds me of Deftones music video for Minerva.

enjoimx 05-22-2005 08:06 PM

wow, it does look a lot like the minerva video, just in the daytime

Sticky-Fingers Mahoney 05-26-2005 12:26 AM

best effectsfor mikeys tone anyone?
(aka bump)

enjoimx 05-26-2005 02:53 PM

mesa boogie amp. required. but realistically ( mesas are like 2000 for a head and 1500 for a cab) have a phaser and or flanger + delay. mike rules the phase delay combo.

edit- anyone got decent tabs for take me to your leader? all the tabs ive seen sucked, and i must know how to play that song.

I Am a Hat 06-03-2005 10:33 AM

Incubus is playing a show at 12:30 EST that is being recorded. There is a streaming video at http://www.rockpalast.de/livestream/. It seems to be running late though. Some metal band with painted white faces came on 15 minutes behind schedule.

I think they're showing incubus again at around 4:35 EST, but that might just be a repeat of this performance.

Sleeper 06-03-2005 02:22 PM
