Sometimes my hair goes in my cereal/meal.

Or I think I've got it clear to my mouth, then when I bite it, I bite hair too.

*Nods.*
Let it hang over your mouth, cough.

There's a high chance when you inhale very quickly and sharply right after the cough, that the hair goes into your mouth and chokes you.
It's the price we pay for being cool.

i miss it :upset:

What really sucks is when you're doing a stroke like freestyle and you turn your head up out of the water for air and the water-logged hair is all you can breathe in.
/does that a lot while surfing

I don't go in the sea because I'm scared of whales.

^ True.

On other subjects that don't involve whales eating sailors, I've decided I'm sick of my course and I'm dropping out next thursday (the first day I'm back in), I'm just getting a morning job for a few days a week, getting the equipment in the thread, some books and teaching myself.

I don't go to the beach because I'm convinced the other beach people don't want me to be there.

denboy 04-29-2005 08:08 AM

I never go to the beach because 1. I have a fear of deep being in water where I can't touch the bottom, and 2. I'm afraid of jellyfish :upset:

The innocence of the sea just ends at about 5pm when the first jellyfish floats past you.

Ever had that dream where sharks are circling you in the water?

KKKKKocaine 04-29-2005 08:26 AM
Ever had that dream where sharks are circling you in the water?
Nope, I've had the one where the lion steps out of the caravan into the desert and the sand goes all rippled though. If that's any help?

gaslight 04-29-2005 08:31 AM

I guess they're a similar concept.

Ever been chased by scary aliens? On the run from the Chinese secret police?

The taliban, they wanted me to have gay sex as a punishment, so I ran away, but they had a radar. They didn't catch me though, cause I got home, and my house has locks.

airborne50caliber 04-30-2005 12:52 AM

i dont go to the beach because I'm a rocker and hate those surfer dudes that get all the girls while I can't get near a girl cause my hair reeks of beer.

Wait, I lie. I go to the beach. But I still hate surfers.

I've had a dream where I was playing stuck in the mud with a huge hairy spider while recovering from a hangover. It killed me.

the speakers which came with my imac are good quality, but they have a very strange connector, its stereo but seems to be 1/16, or half the size of a 1/8 miniplug. Is this a regular audio plug which I can get an adaptor for to connect to other equipment, or is it specially for use with this mac and will damage the speakers if I plug it to anything else? Anyway, is this plug really called 1/16 jack???

I could do with a new band...

airborne50caliber 05-02-2005 08:19 AM

and MarkN could do without advertising

moaner 05-02-2005 10:51 AM
I could do with a new band...
heh.

I could do with some prog fan bassist and keybaordist, preferably with one/both being able to sing.

Aes820 05-03-2005 09:00 PM

This bloke I know, a friend of a friend, has got a website with some of his recordings on it.
Have a listen he's a great singer and a great song writer.
http://www.quinn.net.au/welcome.htm

Click on 'sound' and have a listen. Sunset is a good song.
Very Jack Johnson-esque.

EDIT: And just listening now. It sounds like my mate has done some of the backup vocals on the tracks. You can hear him in Holiday doing harmony. Great stuff.

Trigger_003 05-03-2005 11:52 PM

Aes820 05-03-2005 11:53 PM

I think you'll like it Trea. Hope so.

Go the Aussie tallent

airborne50caliber 05-04-2005 12:23 AM

does anyone care to listen to BLOODWORK by 36 crazyfists and tell me what that noise at the beginning is, and how to recreate it? (Or what it's actually called, so I can find a sound file) I find this in lots of songs and its like a guitar lo-freq feedback fading in, except its not a guitar

Trigger_003 05-07-2005 04:14 PM

Just thought I might, since not everyone looks at the beginner guitar forum regularly, let you guys know about this thread: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308621
... exercises good for speed, acuracy, sweeping and pinky strength (probably would be good for bass players too, I don't know). :)

Sounds like a synth to me.

KKKKKocaine 05-08-2005 12:46 AM

Dunno about T36CF intro, I don't actually know where the CD is, I can find the case though, last time I listened to it I took it into an MRI machine with me.
Great band though, they signed my hat on the last roadrage tour with Killswitch Engage and 5 pointe 0 at the rios.

I'm going back into the studio in an hour or so for some vocal trackage.

moaner 05-08-2005 10:02 AM

my guitar rig shoudl develop into this by the end of this year:

Fender Japanese stratocaster (fat, FR)
Behringer mic200
Behringer V-amp 2
Behringer virtualizer 2024P
A midi controller with at least 1 exp pedal
Maplin 4U rack case

and hopefully, at christmas, a keybaord amp (probably end up being the behringer KX1200 or somehtingsomething 450)

ah, bless behirnger. The mic pre will be so i have a valve in my signal path to warm it up- although i'm considering using it as the acutal pre and setting the behringer on pre-amp bypass except for distoriton.

I might not manage to get all that stuff this year though- the midi controller and virtualizer are near definite, but all the other sutff i don't have (spesh the mic200) will have to come later.

gaslight 05-08-2005 10:03 AM

I get my acoustic-electric guitar with case tommorow.

:D

awesome.

i might try and pick up a pickup for my genuine early 70s acoustic*. :d

*my uncle bought it back then for an electric razor :upset: its not that nice to play.

moaner 05-08-2005 10:56 AM

wow, i just found the virtualizer for £66 delivered.

airborne50caliber 05-08-2005 11:16 PM

anyone care to give me more detail on that 36CF synth? Is it just a synth pad?

moaner 05-10-2005 10:40 AM

In other news, moaner wants £300 worth of gear.

a Laney LC15R
a cirtualizer
and a midi controller.

So, once it's in the way of my LC15R, the v-amp might have to go :(

airborne50caliber 05-10-2005 10:53 AM

just keep it in a cupboard. you never know.
