I do expect negativity about Slayer, and it came, then people felt compelled to reiterate their point over and over. The problem is that people think their opinion truly matters and if they voice it enough they'll hopefully get everyone else to share their opinion.

Look at slayers guitar riffs there amazing, they have to sit there and headbang for like 2 hours straight and not mess up one lick or riff, and you are saying that Kerry can't play ?? slayer wouldn't have 10 gold albums and be the top thrash band in the world if kerry or jeff couldn't play

Max is in key with the music he sings to, at least on the two albums I have. And Im not talking about range, im just talking he plain cant sing. Mustaine (at least in the studio) can sing perfectly. I never said Kerry King messed up. I said hes boring because he uses chromatics. But since you want to go there, I challenge you to find one Slayer live show where Kerry or Jeff doesnt make one mistake.

I saw slayer just back in october and kerry and jeff played tight as ****,not a single fuking mistake and the quality was close to album,probaly one of the best live acts I've seen not to mention one of the best metal bands around. Fair enuff Kerry may not be the most technical fuker in the world but that music will keep your head bobbing and your air guitar in practice for hours. As for lyrics,they suit the music,heavy,harsh and all over the place. Gotta agree with Garret aswell though, criticism has to be expected and you cant go against people for an opinion.

Mudvayne. Their lyrics dont use any of that bs imagery. Their stuff is more complex than Slayer and their singer can sing better than Tom. Furthermore, the music shows way better aggangement. Other bands(just in the "metal" genre that have great arrangement include Metallica, Megadeth, and Black Sabbath. As far as my playing, if anyone can play in anything other than chromatics, like say a basic blues penatonic scale, is already far ahead of Kerry King. I can do that and if you are really hard on to hear me, fine I can post something of mine.

My favorite songs by Slayer are Captor of Sin and Scrum. In most cases i like the melodic breakdowns more than the main riffs. Call my crazy.

Does anybody picture slayer without solos, I think it would be really weird IMO it wouldn't be slayer, the solos surprise me when they come out of no where sometimes. Do you think slayer would be better with no solos, opinions.

Solos make slayer what they are,not always the most amazing solos but their not made out to be. Can't really expalin it but just imagine seasons in the abyss without out that amazing solo! :eek:

Unlike Slayer, Mudvayne actually puts time into the music they make. Slayer are out to make the heaviest music possible to please their moron fans. Thats their mission statement. Mudvayne are more selfish about it, which is how it should be. You make music for yourself, honest music. People can tell if its fake or not. Slayer makes music for their idiot fans. Mudvayne are completely honest and it shows. If Slayer got half the attention Mudvayne gets, their fickle ****ing elitist fans would turn their backs in a heartbeat.
