Band and genre bashing.
Don't close it yet, the guy seems to have no understanding of sarcasm.

It's fun.
It might be a while before our mod gets back on, so the fun should last. :)

El_Shiznit 03-29-2005 02:19 PM

You should close the Simple Plan thread. It's not productive at all. The first 10 or so replies say all that needs to be said. It just attracts people to say how gay they are.

Is it time for somebody to make the PPOTM?
I'm not volunteering (sp?), because it's too much work, but should somebody make it soon?

2 days of march left. hold your jon, or make it on your own if you want. anyone can do it

cbmartinez 03-29-2005 10:09 PM

I'll do it.

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 03-30-2005 07:48 AM

Are there going to be anymore debates, or is the thread just gonna die?

El_Shiznit 03-30-2005 11:51 AM

There will be another debate. I only do one MX project at a time. So once the PPOTM is done with, I will start up a new debate. However, I will probably create another thread. It makes things easier when you want to go back looking for one debate.

Permanent Solution 03-30-2005 01:48 PM

Someone should revive forced listening...I was the last person to do it so I can't :-/

cbmartinez 03-30-2005 03:56 PM

Maybe if you hadn't picked such ****ty songs, it wouldn't have died.

chumpradio 03-31-2005 12:31 PM

Hey Joel, would it be okay for me to make a profile style thread thing where each user for this forum will give themselves a brief profile. I remember there was one a bit ago, but a lot of new members have arrived now, and it could be a way to let the members who only post in the discussion thread know a bit about other members who post outside of it mainly.
Just a brief idea I wanted to run by you before I did it.

Kif 03-31-2005 12:33 PM

What ever happened to the Top 100 pop-punk albums idea? We know what is going to win, but still

albert_bass 03-31-2005 12:37 PM

I thought I would say to do what, but the albums that'll win will probably not be the ones I like. Anyway I supposed someone already said this idea. I'll contribute with all the help I can if this list is (tried to be) done. So can I start it or someone wants to do it? Chips did the work in punk very well so if he wants...

Ehhhhhh... those don't really do much, in my opinion.

I'm open to the idea of the greatest 100 Pop-Punk albums, but there would be sooooooooo much bitching. Haha.

Hey you, make someone do my FL :(

I think if we did 100 there'd be a handful of bands with their discographys on it and a few other albums.

PDWAB 03-31-2005 04:58 PM

That's another thing, I think a hundred might be too big. Like, maybe 30? 20? would be better.

Permanent Solution 03-31-2005 04:59 PM

Haha, I like the way you put that, I was just going to ask if there were 100 good pop-punk albums :p

El_Shiznit 03-31-2005 04:59 PM

20 seems a good number to me.

Even with 30, you'd probably see every Green Day and Blink album up there. With 20, there's a good chance their disco's might not be up there.

PDWAB 03-31-2005 05:01 PM

I think combined, Blink and Green Day's albums are like 15. Then we could have Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and Sum 41 to fill out the rest, haha :(

YDload 03-31-2005 05:11 PM

I think you could get up to 50 if people realized that most "emo" bands are actually pop-punk.

Scarred4Life 03-31-2005 08:02 PM

You could get more if you included poppier sounding punk or ska bands, like The Clash, Ramones, Nofx, Catch 22, Reel Big Fish....etc.
You could get more if you included poppier sounding punk or ska bands, like The Clash, Ramones, Nofx, Catch 22, Reel Big Fish....etc.
I agreee except with the clash. But then you have Screeching weasel, Bouncing Souls, Lagwagon, Strung Out, No use for a name, Buzzcocks, Descendents, All, Offspring, Anti-flag's and Rancid new stuff, etc. If the punk forum votes too maybe we can have a decent list.

I thought about a top 50 thing.

RazorsInTheNight 04-02-2005 01:11 AM

Yeah top 50, there is heaps of bands if you count stuff like The Queers, NOFX etc. 50 is a good amount.
