Simon Wright had liking of Dio and when long time friend Ronnie James Dio asked him if he could assist them in the studio he accepted which led him to leave AC/DC in favour of Dio.
if you think all their songs sound the same you must be stupid
exactly my favorite stuff is before back in black i think.... love bon scotts vocals on highway to hell, the entire dirty deeds album, and of course high voltage

MattyBlade 01-13-2005 05:09 AM
who was the very first singer of acdc?
with posts like this it confirms that me > your theory.

rippa32 01-13-2005 05:12 AM

How does asking who the first singer is make you better than him?
You mean where he was trying to convince me that Thunderstruck's intro is hard?
That would be the one. what a guy

MattyBlade 01-13-2005 05:37 AM
true his last name is evans and he was terrible thats why they fired him and hired they re limo driver bon scott
best move they ever made :smash: the bon years were my favorites ... too bad he died before i was born

edit: if you knew the guys last name was evans why did you have to ask and not just google it :naughty:

edit #2(after reading more carefully and doing some math): I realized now you guys were doing some trivia hahaha im sorry

LiZZySkYnRd7^ 01-13-2005 05:48 AM

Bon Scott was one of a kind indeed. People often compare Brian Johnsons voice and his, and say they can't tell them apart and to me that is insanity. Don't get me wrong, as far as replacement singers go, Brian was ace...but there never was and never will be a voice like Bons. The pure embodiment of lust and rock and roll if ever there was one. Rock n Roll personified.

/ sidenote: I read that Ozzy wrote suicide solution in honour of Bon...is this true?

Bon > Brian . It's quite simple really and i agree with you entirely. Problem child is probably my favorite song, and to me it seems like brian is trying to emulate bon, which is probably why he has his own unique sound as well.

I wish bon never died :upset:

LiZZySkYnRd7^ 01-13-2005 05:56 AM

My favourite song is Livewire, it just gives me a feeling like I cannot explain...but hey, the truly best of all feelings are inexplicable. Bon is bad, and when he said it, you believed it. I'm with you Matt... there was plenty of music left in that one.

angus_young1990 01-13-2005 01:32 PM

angus young is the reason i play guitar.

ac/dc is the reason i listen to music.

People who say AC/DC mad e18 albums that sound exactly the same are ball lickers

angus_young1990 01-13-2005 01:34 PM

i think the best AC/DC song ever is let there be rock when they played live in paris for the album "let there be rock the movie"

AB/CD 01-13-2005 03:13 PM

ah does any1 kow y powerage is called powerage?
why if you want blood is called if you want blood?

JACKROXYOU 01-13-2005 04:31 PM

i know if you want blood you got it means

it was in a war movie they watched where the guy yells " If it's blood they want its blood they'll get"

AB/CD 01-13-2005 04:52 PM

wrong and i cant be arsed waiting on answers nwo so im jsut gonna explain them

powerage-the figured weve had stone age ice age an all the other ages so they thoght well whats this we r in at the minute they figured powerage and named it that

if you want blood-well ok the album is named after a line some guy said on stage whcih was "if you want blood then here have it" or somethign along them lines so they named the album after that (they guy didnt use the actual line if you want blood youve got it)

BludgeonySteve 01-13-2005 05:20 PM

Knowing ac/dc, that line would be inolved in some sort of a bar fight :chug:

Why is it called a movie when it is clearly only an album. ( I don't have this album.)

Ulysses 01-13-2005 06:23 PM

"Let There Be Rock" should be renowned for being a great album and probably my most favourite besides "If You Want Blood". The part concert, part documentary film contains songs such as Live Wire and Highway to Hell that arn't even on "Led There Be Rock". I am yet to see this movie, I'll have to purchase it off the net sometime.

ANGUS YOUNG13 01-13-2005 06:33 PM

The way you type annoys me.

ANGUS YOUNG13 01-13-2005 11:53 PM

sorry

Marty 01-14-2005 12:01 AM

i wouldnt want to get a signature model, as much as i love angus and AC/DC, signature models just dont interest me. You also end up forking out extra cash just because its called the Angus Young model.

Glitterati 01-14-2005 12:03 AM
You also end up forking out extra cash just because its called the Angus Young model.
Exactly. A lot of people get boned via that system

ANGUS YOUNG13 01-14-2005 12:03 AM

yeh but i wanna support angus hes my idol and it looks kool but ur totally right

Paranoidd 01-14-2005 12:11 AM

If I'm not mistaken (I'm going off the top of my head here as I don't feel like checking the gibby site), the only difference between the Angus Young model and normal SG other than cosmetics (headstock, engraving on the trapeze, possibly fretboard markings) are the optional vibrola, and the pickups.

If the cost difference is that substantial for pickups and/or cosmetics, it's just not worth it.

correct my friend...to be honest i prefer the look of the other SG's anyway. But the Angus model is definetely a collectors item.

Ulysses 01-14-2005 05:35 AM
Oh so it is a movie I thought it was just a CD cause i saw it was a part of the Bonfire Boxset.
It also comes separate from what I saw when I looked it up on the net a few months back and yeah its a doco/concert type thing.

AB/CD 01-14-2005 11:00 AM

I think you are thinking of somethin else. I know there is a VHS called Let There Be Rock but I think that what comes with the Bonfire boxset is different. I am not too sure. Does anyone have this boxset?

AB/CD 01-14-2005 06:47 PM

emmm yeah the bonfire box set has 2 disks of let there be rock but no documentary stuff on it as far as i no i wont listen to it cos im keeping the box set in good condition but the box set version has extra songs on it like T.N.T an stuff
