are you retiring from metal?
"We'll still be metal when you have short hair, work 9-5 and have an ugly wife."
read my second post

jaundice, their first album is awesome, r. borlax. the mechanical hand is pretty good too, and what ive heard of the newest is decent. its most definitely worth checking out r. borlax.
Yeah but what bands did you see them with? I saw them once with BTBAM and the crowd was decent. But come on, Horse AND iwrestledabearonce is obviously gonna draw a shitty crowd

Jaundice 10-03-2009 02:44 PM

probably some v cute girls but mostly tools

Nepenthe 10-03-2009 02:52 PM

yeah there was some lookers but all were definitely under my age limit. if i had been a little drunker than i was i might have made the mistake of disregarding the limit, but luckily i had some senses still about me.

when they came last year they were with heavy heavy low low and so many dynamos, which would make you expect an even gayer crowd. dallas is just a pretty cool city, whereas fort worth is littered with the usual shitcore crowd.

The Feeding 10-03-2009 02:53 PM

i knew a chick who let heavy heavy low low run a train on her

while she was dating one of my friends

Jaundice 10-03-2009 02:55 PM

i'd laugh if my gf let a band run on a train

Nepenthe 10-03-2009 02:55 PM

ahaha what a tool

EdgeOfSanity 10-03-2009 02:56 PM

I'm trying to decide whether to go see BTBAM or Hank III...they are on consecutive nights and I can't afford/get off work early enough to go to both...leaning towards III.

The Feeding 10-03-2009 03:01 PM

I would go see Hank III hands down

EdgeOfSanity 10-03-2009 03:06 PM

Seen him twice...pretty good...not so much a fan of the Assjack stuff but ehh, whatever.

haha, yeah a show like that out here would be full of gay scenesterness

rundown

Creatures were boring, and wtf was up with all the "satanic" ****. Band called Disaster were cool, Rise and Fall was fantastic but all the pathetic Jersey kids just stood around for the most part. Bracewar gets better every time I see them, and Guns Up was solid as usual. There were a couple other bands not even worth mentioning.

Pastor of Muppets 10-04-2009 01:04 PM

Mastodon solidified themselves last night as the coolest band in metal. Those guys just stand up there and do their thing without trying to be heavier than the band before them, or writing more off-the-wall songs than anyone else. Just solid songwriting, excellent musicianship and unique vocals.

Also heard Converge for the first time ever last night. I can't believe people get excited over that. Not commenting on the live performance, I obviously got to shows for different reasons, but that music was the most boring metalcore I've heard.

Pastor of Muppets 10-04-2009 03:40 PM

Hopefully someday you kids will grow out of the mindlessly aggressive bullpoop that your slightly more talented heroes make and find some actual music. Maybe cut your hair and stop being brats to your parents.

TimJim 10-04-2009 03:41 PM

gtfo

Pastor of Muppets 10-04-2009 03:47 PM

The general consensus among Dethklok fans was Converge was monotonous and boring.

Worse than metal that is bad on purpose

TimJim 10-04-2009 03:48 PM

dethklok fans are trolls you idiot.

SlightlyEpic 10-04-2009 03:51 PM

Jaundice 10-05-2009 03:34 PM

Nepenthe 10-05-2009 03:44 PM
