i may have said this already, but the more i listen to CoF the less horrible they seem to be. Still, i'd pass them up for some good black metal anyday, but i don't see them in the same light anymore.

The only cradle album i have is Bitter Suites to Succubi and my favorite song so far would have to be Born in a Burial gown although i love the solo on The Principle of Evil Made Flesh

Cradle of Filth was probably the first 'heavier' band I listened to. Then I went to COB, and off into the depths of BM. I still listen to COF sometimes though, I like Dani's vocals.

Ive liked CoF since i first heard them. Everyone says Danis voice sucks but id like to see them pull that off.

You should hear the original from their debut album. The Bitter Suites version of that and The Black Goddess Rises were both awful.

I thought they were good but then i havent heard the originals

The originals are soooooooooo much better. Once you hear them you'll notice how bad the remakes are.

i hear the same thing, everyone says Dani Filth's vox suck, but i don't think they're all that bad, i mean they're not OMG totully Awesum!!1, but it much rather hear that than some shi[COLOR=Black]t[/COLOR]ty hardcore wanna-be growling...

exactly what he said. So many people flame CoF, but they're all very talented musicians, who have their own style. You can't say they're unoriginal, because they somewhat started the genre of that type of black metal. It's not straight up black metal, more melodic I guess. Plus, they do definitely have one hell of a live show.

Cradle Of Filth is a very talented band, and Dani's scream is next to unmatched.

I love them. I don't know if they're one of my favorite bands, but they're up there.

I appreciate them a lot, its just that a lot of people nowadays are abandoning intereset in Cradle of filth because they are not the way they used to be, they have become commercial and have changed far too much in comparison to how they used to be. Really, deep down a lot of people love cradle, i know i do, but some people are just too ignorant and just refuse to admit it because they feel they wont be 'true' enough if they do. thats why they dont appreciate them. :evil:

someone recommend me a CoF album, keep in mind however, than i listen to i guess, 'real' black metal, so recommend one that will at least stand up to the likes of Emperor, Burzum, Bathory, and well, you get the idea...

Oh thats easy: 'The Principle of Evil made flesh', which as im on the same wavelength as you, its their best album and most black metal.
Failing that try 'midian' thats a good album, hope that helps you.

But does it stand up to albums like: In The Nightside Eclipse and Storm of the Light's Bane?

EDIT: i'm not trying to put down CoF or anything, its just that i only have a few bucks to spend and since the music i like is expensive (17-20) a cd, i have to have a real good reason to pass up a supreme black metal band for CoF, ya know?

Obviously id doesnt match up to emperor and such great black metal bands...
In fact dont buy cradle of filth, i know i shouldnt be saying this on a cradle of filth themed forum thread, but buy a cd that i bought a few weeks ago, a blackend collection album, that consists of 4 Enthroned albums in one big CD case, its £17 but its well worth it. that should keep you entertained.

Forget it, i'm probably going to end up buying a Sonata Artica album or maybe Century Child from Nightwish, been needing to get that...

Hi Treason wall. yeah sonata are good, i saw them at the thirteenth day gig, with the great Finntroll and Norther as well as others... But if your a good nightwish fan, you have to get 'wishmaster' or 'century child', but if you only need century child to complete your collection, get it by all means, but older nightwish is far better than the new stuff,
