Are those mensa tests on the web? Never taken an IQ test before.
Yeah, they don't have em online anymore...but I took one, they offered me membership, and then tried to get me to pay $50 to be in it. Screw that lol, I refuse to pay money for prestige. I am better than MENSA anyways

Riva 10-31-2004 07:18 PM

Bugger. Oh well, I'll see if I can find one on the web, using my contacts.

Oh, and take this to the Community Thread, mate. Stop spamming my thread! :p

I am smarter than Pink Floyd, I deserve a thread about me :p

So which one's Pink? ;)

Kingofdudes 10-31-2004 07:20 PM

So that when they turn their backs on you
You'll get the chance to put the knife in....

Riva 10-31-2004 07:21 PM

You mean, in the wall how Waters is Pink?

Permanent Solution 10-31-2004 07:36 PM

I was de-spamming the thread :p

Kingofdudes 10-31-2004 07:48 PM

Who said that, I forgot who.

weatherman123 10-31-2004 08:00 PM

"the band is just fantastic that is really what i think, oh by the way, which ones pink?"

is that what youre talking about?

Riva 10-31-2004 09:29 PM

Duh. The lead singer is Pink, and the Guitarist is Floyd. Silly.

/Has a feeling there is an obscure joke that I'm not getting.

Permanent Solution 10-31-2004 09:30 PM

/Has a feeling Riva is on a massive drug overdose

Riva 10-31-2004 09:37 PM

So, anyway, back to the topic. What is the significance of how In The Flesh? has a question mark, and In The Flesh doesn't?

DeusExMachina 11-01-2004 02:01 PM

Um... Well, In The Flesh? has ambiguity about whether or not you're actually seeing the real "Pink Floyd," hence the question mark. In The Flesh makes it clear that you're seeing a "surrogate band," and not really Pink Floyd, so the title is kind of ironic.

~The*Lemon*Song~ 11-01-2004 02:29 PM

Yeah, all the lyrics on that album are creepy...to me, the ones that are haunting would have to be Goodbye Blue Sky, One of my turns (linking to Don't leave me now), and The Show must go On. It's like it has double meanings, the first part being about the war, and the second about the panic of realizing where you've gotten with the music you've produced and feeling like that corporate monster whore when your music hits fame and you have nowhere to go.

~The*Lemon*Song~ 11-01-2004 02:29 PM

Echoes is in my top list of favourites from Pink Floyd though.

weatherman123 11-01-2004 03:41 PM

echoes is a great song...the meddle version is WAY better than the 'Echoes' greatest hits version

thelizardkingcc 11-01-2004 03:43 PM

so on my cd of "the wall" it says the song title is "One of my TUNES" not "turns," but ive read "turns" elsewhere as well, so whats the real title?

Jude 11-01-2004 03:45 PM

I'm pretty sure it's turns, since tunes doesn't make sense...

Echoes isn't just a good song, it's the best piece of music ever written...

Kingofdudes 11-01-2004 03:48 PM

Turns is correct

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-01-2004 03:51 PM

I almost agree...but theres a pointless moment that 7:00 to 19:00 is just uncalled for I turn off my CD player at 7:00. That 1st 7 min. though is just amazing.

DeusExMachina 11-01-2004 06:03 PM

what about the last 4 minutes? I like the whole thing, but even if you don't like that experimental bit, it normalizes again at the end.

Permanent Solution 11-01-2004 06:05 PM

I think it flows as one piece, the mood evolves constantly, you just have to be up for that kind of variety I guess.

DeusExMachina 11-01-2004 06:09 PM

Agreed.

lunch998 11-01-2004 08:11 PM

I think Dogs>Echoes, but Echoes is still amazing. Dogs just appeals to me more.

Broken Arrow 11-01-2004 08:13 PM

I think Echoes changes pace more and makes it more interesting for the listener

DeusExMachina 11-01-2004 08:42 PM

I never really got too into Animals. Guess I just need to give it another shot.
