I don't like the yeah yeah yeahs

Death cab is so good((I just saw them a few weeks ago)), and sigur ros is pretty good though they will never live up to the Icelandic goddess bjork. The blood brothers are great and the violent femmes don’t float my boat. I’m going to check out the Melvins though. Yay for joy division and the smiths, the cure, ect. I’ve heard such great things about TV on the radio I’m going to check them out.

Hehe silly the deftones aren’t metal, they are amazing but not metal.

I don’t understand any appeal to the yeah yeah yeahs, but if you like them have fun.

What I’ve been listening to:
Badly drawn boy
Broken social scene
Keane
Matt Pond PA
Last days of April
Lisa Loeb
Part chimp

and a little pantera.

Tangy zizzle 06-23-2004 12:31 AM

Wow, that post is hard to make sense of.

Deftones are a metal band man.

Recycled Air 06-23-2004 12:32 AM

Minus the Bear
I prefer Minus the Bear over Botch, but prefer Snakes over both of them.
I swear I'll stop posting a lot, but have you heard anthing off the new EP? it's so amazing. Minus the Bear never fail.

deftones are not metal.

oh and sorry for the confusion

Nope, havn't heard any of their new stuff. I'm guessing it's good?

...Deftones ARE a metal band man! If they arent, what are they?

wheelz 06-23-2004 09:42 PM

i just got the shins "chutes too narrow" today... wow. a few months ago i just thought they were some crap overrated indie band... i hadn't even heard a single song off this cd it turns out, and the stuff off "oh, inverted world!" i've heard grew on me a while ago.

this really is a great cd... anyone who hasn't heard it should really check it out. i'm not gonna recommend any songs off of it, because they're really all great.

ok, i'll recommend "young pilgrim". but really, if you haven't heard much from this band and are into the indie rock thing, this is a must listen. and the packaging is just the coolest.

ok i'm done gushing. but i promise you you'll be impressed.

Tapeworm 06-24-2004 11:20 AM

That cd is incredible. One of the best that I've bought this year.

Recycled Air 06-24-2004 01:54 PM

you win.

br3ad_man 06-25-2004 06:10 AM

I almost got "Jeff Buckley Live In Chicago" for 5 dollars on video today, but for some stupid reason, I decided against it. My friend picked me up an asian copy of it though, so it's all good. :thumb:

I also got "White Pony"

Tangy zizzle 06-25-2004 08:31 PM

I just got

John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
The (International) Noise Conspiracy - The First Conspiracy

I've just started listening to The First Conspiracy and it seems pretty solid so far. A Love Supreme I've had for a long time on mp3 and is one of my alltime favourites.

wheelz 06-26-2004 12:02 AM
I also got "White Pony"
i'm a deftones fan, i like that album.

Digital Bath
Passenger
Change
Rx Queen
Knife Party

Deftones are great. I'm going to get "Around The Fur" on sale for $10 AU in a couple of weeks

Add in Teenager and Mascara and you have my favourites from the album.

br3ad_man 06-26-2004 06:14 PM

Mascara??? That isn't on my copy.

I'll download it.

Tangy zizzle 06-26-2004 07:38 PM

Ha I'm wrong. Mascara is on Around the Fur... my bad!

Cool song though.

br3ad_man 06-26-2004 08:04 PM

Cool, I'm getting that album soon :thumb:

Tangy zizzle 06-26-2004 08:11 PM

It fails in comparison to White Pony but is still one of the best nu-metal recordings ever made.

Luxor 06-26-2004 10:59 PM

Listening to the new Beastie Boys album right now, it's decent, not as good as Hello Nasty. I'm sure it'll grow on me though.

Tangy zizzle 06-26-2004 11:07 PM

Queens of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf has been declared Tangy Zizzle's Official Album of The Week

It was only a matter of time...

NakedRaygun872 06-27-2004 10:25 AM

As The Sun Sets -AND- Daughters they're both great metalcore bands even if you aren't a fan of metalcore.
Daughters spawned when ATSS broke up.

Luxor 06-29-2004 10:37 PM

I think I've been listening to Coheed & Cambria for 2 days straight.
