I would like that. But it will never happen.
Edit: to badmoon. Hmmm well this post could work for rockandroll as well. |
Here's some big news for Classic Rock fans
The remaining members of The MC5 are going on tour, and to replace to two dead members (Smith and Tyner), they got Mark Arm from Mudhoney to play rythm guitar and sing. Now it won't be as great as The MC5 would have been if they had all the members, but I love Mudhoney, and I'll bet the tour will be great. |
Rumours are the MC5, Stooges (w/Iggy) and the Pixies to tour Australia doing the national Livid Tour in October..The Who are touring here in July!
|
^ Yes to promote their new album :)
The MC5, The Stooges, and The Pixies should be great. Even though The MC5 are missing Smith and Tyner. I also don't really see where The Pixies fit into that mix. |
Member - John Paul Jones (SOOOOOOOOOO underated)
Song - bron yur a stomp, the song remains the same, in the evening Album - houses of the holy Thoughts - complete perfection in my mind. |
Badmoon349: No they're not touring together, but as part of a big annual music festival in Aust every year :thumb:

When I was 13, I got on the band wagon, meaning Nirvana, Marcy Playground, etc. I'm not proud of it, but it happened. When I turned 15, I got AC/DC's Back in Black. It completely changed my life. 4 years later, I've collected every AC/DC album, numerous Who albums, Zeppelin, Rush, Van Halen... the list goes on. I've converted many of my friends, who no realize the error of their rap loving ways.
As the great frontman Brian Johnson once scribed: ~Rock and roll ain't noise pollution, rock and roll will never die~ |

^ That's what I say about Robert Plant whenever he screams,
|
Haha, yeah Plant's voice is always either hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can't stand his voice, but sometimes I love it. I love his voice on the first album, but I'm not really a fan of it on the later albums.
|
I like Robert Plant when he stays within his own range! Stairway to heaven is good singing.
|
going to california is quite good as well.
i'd love to see the who, even without entwistle and moon. |
I saw them without Moon and Entwistle. They use various bassists, but they have Zach Straky as their drummer.
|
^^^^^
Who's Ringo Star's son, right? |
^ That is correct

-Great bassist -Keyboards - Mandolin on Battle of evermore :thumb:x1000 -Nice backup vocals. I'm sure there is more but the guy was awesome. |
^ I wouldn't exactly call him a musical genius. He is slightly overrated. Being able to play a few instruments doesn't make you a genius, but none the less he was a great or atleast satisfactory musician.
-Great bassist
-Keyboards - Mandolin on Battle of evermore :thumb:x1000 -Nice backup vocals. I'm sure there is more but the guy was awesome.
Stand up bass on "bron yur a stomp". To me, his Keyboards/Bass lines enhance LZ's music like no other. ive told several of my friends to listen to their favourite LZ album and focus on JPJ and afterwards they all had a new respect for him. his knowledge of the neck and his speedy style of rock/blues bass is one not found in music often today. as for his Keyboards, i think his stlye inspired alot of the keyboard works in the 1980's electronic type rock bands. Anyone into his solo work, i saw him on his "Zooma tour 00'" and it was fasntastic!!!!!!! I loved it, also his "thundertheif" album is remarkable, he sings on here as opposes to Zooma. I have an expeneive Vynal of his 1985 movie-record "scream for help" with guest features Jimmy Page and Yes' Jon Anderson. John Paul Jones is one of my biggest inspirations. :thumb: |
Anybody into the James Gang? Includes 3 fabulous musicians. If you have yet to hear them pick up Rides Again, or The Yer Album.

is he better than his daddy? i love ringo, but he was just a pretty good drummer, i wouldn't let him fill the shoes of keith moon... |
Zach is pretty good, I wouldn't say he's better than Keith, He has a much different style than Ring, so that is hard to say.
|
john paul jones is great, but so was everyone in that band.
i got tickets to see the doobie brothers in july!! and are there any creedence fans here? CCR was what first got me into music. i love down on the corner, traveling band, suzie q, fortunate son, up around the bend, midnight special, born on the bayou, heard it thru the grapevine, proud mary, bad moon, and of course green river, just to name a few.. |

well ringo always kept it simple, which i actually find to be a good thing in many cases, look at phil rudd of ac/dc. his simple playing greatly enhances the music. and if it doesn't add to the music, it takes away... |
I just listened to some Allman brothers (hittin the note, eat a peach and beginings). They are now in my top 10 favorite bands of all time :D. Wow i'm just blown away... Too good for words (more words that is).

They are heavy influenced by Bluegrass, and that would be the best genre to be influenced by in my opinion. |
