I'ld be interested in who Metallica got as a lead guitarist if they didn't get Kirk if they didn't break up.
Hmm, who was about in the area around that time?

drummerman 02-21-2006 02:07 AM
Hopefully James with have some more solos. It would be cool if the both did solos in different places on the same song.
It'd be nice to hear some harmonies like A7X use.

Of course commercial music isn't made to be listened to.

Correctimundo. 1986.. the best year in music. (or one of)

Bazarov 02-21-2006 04:18 PM

The Download festival seems kind off odd, band wise. Metallica with Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine.

Me too

Jev 02-21-2006 04:44 PM

Wasn't Reign In Blood 1985?

Drone 02-21-2006 05:54 PM

No, Hell Awaits was 1985. Reign In Blood was 1986.

Britton 02-21-2006 05:56 PM

Can't you all google this crap?

How the hell did Bullet for my valentine get invited to download?

Bloody Knives 02-21-2006 05:56 PM

Hell Awaits would be so much better if the production was better. I think that is pretty much the only down side to that Slayer album.

Britton 02-21-2006 05:59 PM

Well yea...but those eighties metal albums just wouldn't be the same without their sounds...I don't know how to say it other then they weren't the biggest band in the world but they were fighting to get there...and the production sucked but they made it out alive and kncked some heads while doing it

Bazarov 02-21-2006 06:15 PM

I find the production that album rather good. I can hear the bass, guitar, drums and vocals perfectly. But oh well....

I have no idea who BfmV got into the Download Festival... Korn is going to be there too. :/ But then I guess I don't really care, because it's not in San Diego.

Bloody Knives 02-21-2006 06:26 PM

Where is Download anyways?

I find the production on that a bit flat and you can hear feedback from the area around them not the amp. It needs a much better drum production IMO.

It's probably a couple hundred dollars, plus with Trivium, Korn, Guns n' Roses and Bullet for my Valentine being there, I wouldn't pay that money.

£145 to be precise overall. I'm paying the money, it MetallicA, and a hell of a weekend with my mates!

Ah right. Thanks.
How the hell did Bullet for my valentine get invited to download?
I don't think they were invited, they asked to play I think, which is what most bands do. Or they just say that they're playing download and get put on the line up.

This year's download looks utter crap. I don't really want to have to sit through 12 crappy bands just for Metallica.

In the past, didn't Dream Theater play and Dragonforce?

Jev 02-23-2006 04:02 AM

Not to my knowledge. Neither bands have played Download.
