i think RTL is the best album as a whole, even though other albums have better songs on them.

call of ktulu> orion

dr._feelgood 02-19-2006 10:20 PM

I only have MOP and BA, I'm such a n00b. I gotta get more Metallica albums.

.:Thrasher:. 02-19-2006 11:14 PM

well what im going is im getting other bands albums cause i no metallicas music so well i practically no all the words from KEA to Black(metallica) so im getting them last

Britton 02-19-2006 11:27 PM
I'ld take Ktulu over Orion but MoP over RTL. In my opinion AJFA slays them all.
I would have to agree with this...well...I don't know..I have a hard time making up my mind.

metalhed 02-20-2006 12:27 AM

theyr both as good as each other but MoP is better than RtL

Mr.Metalton 02-20-2006 01:27 AM

no matter how you think of all those songs, Metallica just kicks ***.

PepsiMetal 02-20-2006 01:29 AM
no matter how you think of all those songs, Metallica just kicks ***.
Yup. I change my favorite tallica songs like every week. So they're all kinda equally good.

Jev 02-20-2006 01:54 AM

It's usually Damage Inc., Ride the Lightning, Metal Militia or Creeping Death for me. Rotates around those 4.

Chu 02-20-2006 02:41 AM
Wrote more songs for Exodus....
Yeah, cause you know Kirk wrote so much for Exodus..
Yea dude I'll send it your way when we get it done I'll tell you and you can give me your E-mail.
Sweet man, it's a great song to play, although I can't sing for ****, and the only singers I know are in Death bands...
Why is Ride The Lightning considered to be great? That album is crap
It's quite a claim to say Ride The Lightning is crap.
Personally it's my favourite album of all time, and I don't think there will ever be another album I will hold so close.
I love my Ride The Lightning.
Everything about it is ****en awesome!!!

Especially Trapped Under Ice and Escape, **** it's all good.
With MOP, you can listen to Master of Puppets and Battery, and think "Hey, these belong on an album together." You can listen to The Frayed Ends of Sanity and Harvestor of Sorrow and think "Hey, these belong on an album together." You can do it with Damage, Inc, and Sanitarium, Blackened and Eye of the Beholder, etc etc etc

But when I see Fight Fire with Fire and Fade to Black on an album together, I think "Hmm, these don't sound like part of the same album." I can't pair any two songs from RTL and see that they belong on the same album. RTL's songs lack that quality. Maybe it's just me, but still.
There's more relation between the songs on Ride The Lightning then the songs on Master of Puppets.. How can they not go together?
That's one of the reasons I love Ride The Lightning so much, it's just so well composed in my opinion. Everything about it is meant to be there, it was truly a blessing from God (At least for me, you obviously don't like the album).

Although, I agree Orion is better then Call of The Ktulu, I still wouldn't want it any other way.

Never been a fan of ..AJFA
+1 Trend Setter :D

After listening to Kill 'em All sped up, and with a better Lead guitarist (imo), I prefer No Life 'Til Leather, even if the recording quality is about 1 Million times worse, the guitar work alone more then makes up for it.

.:Thrasher:. 02-20-2006 04:41 AM

IMO best Metallica album ever is AJFA. Dont get me wrong, i love all there stuff before Reload but MOP(awsome album) is a bit over rated

superdigg 02-20-2006 06:40 AM

oh j'asus! possible new material, recorded by some guys that were watching metallica rehearse from afar:
http://www.youtube.com/w/Metallica-in-Auckland%2C-NZ.-2004-01-15-----Rehearsal-Jam?v=DDrxmMuWxcA&search=metallica%20new%20material
check it out! sounds a little repetitive to me but i get a bit of AJFA feeling out of it, maybe the vocals just aren't ready yet. what do you think?

Nice find :thumb:

It's kinda hard to judge, it sounded OK. And its also hard to tell if it was just a jam or some new material.

Aww poo....

Jev 02-20-2006 10:20 AM

Haha, I haven't seen that. I never check Metallica.com any more.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 02-20-2006 03:47 PM

Dream Theater performing every song on Master of Puppets live, anyone?

http://musicfreep2p.blogcindario.com/2005/03/00530-dream-theater-master-of-metallica.html

PepsiMetal 02-20-2006 03:50 PM

Yup, I had that too. It pretty much sucked.

Their Iron maiden cover was way better.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 02-20-2006 03:58 PM

I like how they did Orion. First time I've heard that played live right through. I like Damage, Inc too. I love how at the end he shouts "DAMAGE INCORPORATED!" instead of whipsering it

Small metallica update. :thumb:
This is like a week old...

SO I took that image of lars with that notebook and tried to zoom in on it...but it got all fuzzy and messed up...drat

BLS_Infernus 02-20-2006 06:10 PM

I can't even half make out what that is. I'll try again later with my image settings larger.

Hopefully James with have some more solos. It would be cool if the both did solos in different places on the same song.

Bazarov 02-20-2006 06:59 PM

Seriously think about it. If he was still in Exodus today, do you think he'd be sitting around contributing nothing?

Chu 02-20-2006 07:49 PM

I don't think he'd still be in Exodus tbh.

BLS_Infernus 02-20-2006 08:01 PM
I don't think he'd still be in Exodus tbh.
Well that's a touche issue. Kirk may have not become the person he is today so he may have still been into the classic solo thing. Today he pretty much doesn't like how he did solos in the past (i.e. wankage)

Apocalyptic Raids 02-20-2006 09:10 PM

I think he would still be in Exodus, or at least he would have throughout the 80's. It's not like he was about to leave Exodus before Metallica asked him.

Bloody Knives 02-20-2006 11:07 PM

If Kirk was still in Exodus and I think they would have broken up and not have reformed.

I'ld be interested in who Metallica got as a lead guitarist if they didn't get Kirk if they didn't break up.

Audiopond 02-20-2006 11:42 PM

I hope after this cd they come to Omaha again. I missed em last time and if I don't get to see them in my life I will cry.
