I bought a macbook almost purely cause it looks cool and has a sturdy case. I know all the pros and cons and how much of a rip off it is too. Hell, I've installed the mac os on pcs before, so I didn't even buy it for the OS. I just don't care.

honestly I think in terms of build quality they're the best laptops around right now (unless you go for ubergaming custom ones)

Well it's not a preferred object of choice. It's more of an on the go/lazy route. Unless you carry a mirror around. But using the bottom of the mac does work well.

maybe an old mac but the new macbook shells aren't glossy

In terms of specs, yes, but if you factor in the build quality the gap is much less than pcfags would have you believe.

macbook build quality is better than anything you're going to get unless you spend 3 times as much on a luxury gaming laptop manufacturer

i have a dell its a plastic piece of shit that i got for $450 but i havent had any problems in 4 years of daily abuse consisting mostly of streaming porn and music

I would be dropping at least a grand on any laptop i buy anyway so there's no reason not to go with aesthetics.

you can't deny the build quality though man, my sister has an acer laptop and yeah it's like half the price but feels like a fisher price toy.
