what style of music would you associate with this bass??

when i see it i want to puke and say funk at the same time
There not the prettiest basses but they sound incredble, and are nice and comfy in your hands.

I really wish I had one of those, and I associate it with cool music

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:20 PM

Man, Bongos have changed me mind about basswood.

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:20 PM

Hey, I know some of you guys have been less than receptive to basswood. This bass is made of it. Never played one, but the toilet seat shape is just too much for me. Really not my kind of thing.

Edit: Damn, Paul beat me to it.

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:22 PM

Between the bongo and SRX basses, I'm starting to like basswood a lot.

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:22 PM

A lot of G&L L2500's are made of basswood as well. they only have an ash cap.

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:24 PM

Why would you have an ash cap?

Omega Red 11-29-2004 03:30 PM

quilted maple cap

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:30 PM

For looks. I'm serious, when I found that out I was shocked as well. There are some that are solid ash but they seem to be mostly from the early 90's(at least the ones I've seen). I'm still gonna get one.

Edit: Ugh, I cannot stand quilted maple anymore. It's so terribly overdone. Mutant maple is where it's at. With a black to trans-silver burst. Beatiful.

Janelectro 11-29-2004 03:38 PM

My precision knock-off is made of basswood, sounds not bad, my only complaint about is that it is very light. Even with a chrome pickup cover and a badass bridge the neck keeps diving and it already did before I got heavier hipshot tuners...

Left Shoe 11-29-2004 03:38 PM

hey back from schoo, totally bombed a chemistry test (60%) ironically one of the highest grades in my class

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:40 PM

Nice job. I could never stand chem myself. Good thing I'm at uni now where I need not take classes I don't like.

Janelectro 11-29-2004 03:41 PM

you don't even need to go to classes you like ;)

Left Shoe 11-29-2004 03:42 PM

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:47 PM

I aced an Algebra test and two Modern Worl Civilization tests. Go me.

FUNKNBASS 11-29-2004 03:49 PM

I dont have to go to school.

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 03:49 PM

Anyone know what strings Marcus Miller used on The Sun Don't Lie (The CD, not song)?

FUNKNBASS 11-29-2004 03:56 PM

I know that Marcus is a big DR user so I believe thats what he uses.

Janelectro 11-29-2004 03:56 PM

his signature DRs I think

Mitchell Royce 11-29-2004 03:57 PM

LeftShoe, I'm in germany. I'm currently studying literary science so I will definitly not have to take any sort of chem test again in my life. I hope.

Edit: Jan, I have attendance requirements in most of my anglistik classes. It's simply awful, there's no other faculaty that has attendance rules as strict.

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 04:02 PM

Man, they're bright.

Left Shoe 11-29-2004 04:06 PM

bleh i do hate school, had a good run of insomnia last night so i fell asleep at like 4 got up at 6 for school bleh

PaulSimonon 11-29-2004 04:08 PM

As do I, and I'm an insomniac too.

Omega Red 11-29-2004 04:09 PM

I'm so over school its not funny

FUNKNBASS 11-29-2004 04:09 PM

Once again, I will never have to go to an "acedemic" school ever.

Omega Red 11-29-2004 04:09 PM
