Metallica Wars: A New Hope
Somewhere in a studio far far away... RICK RUBIN JOIN METALLICA FOR NEW ALBUM Hope. |
Their music....
I think Rick will do a good job. I'm a fan of St. Anger...so I'll be happy if it's along those lines
Maybe more parts in the phasing of the songs, less repeative and solos. That would kick ***. |
Mustaine does have a solo career and it's called Megadeth. Friedman is a far better guitarist then Mustaine is theory/tech. wise
Megadeth isint a solo career its a band. Well IMO Mustaines is much better in Tech and maybe not theory but my sources tell me that he wrote practiclly 3/4 of what Friedman did. Why do you think he left? even he says "when i was in Megadeth only 2% of what i did was in the band". this came from him. |
Megadeth is Dave Mustaine's creation and it's pretty much just him and people for hire. IMHO that would make it Mustaine's solo career. Marty also says he left because he's not interested in metal anymore. He's doing Jap. Pop now.
|
I would consider megadeth mustaine as well. He's the first person you think of when you say megadeth he writes all the songs and everyone else has come and gone he's still there
|
BLS_Infernus you think MF is More better and i think DM is better. lets leave it at that:thumb:

ok man :thumb: I would so like to see Megadeth and Metallica tour again. I think both are in the studio and they could go a joint production tour. That would kick major ***. Oh....Slayer is in the studio as well. Maybe it can be a 3-way :naughty: That would be the biggest, best tour ever. |
Still got the guys that wrote such albums as MoP, RtL, KeA and AjfA.
Well, maybe 2/4s of the writers of those albums, and the 2/4s that are missing happen to be the better writers... |

Dave Mustaine was only on KEA and RTL but only a few for RTL. Cliff was on all the way up to AJFA but only a few tracks as well on AJFA. The main writes are James and Lars. |
Freakin' A...Rick Rubin with Metallica!!!!!!!!!! That will kick ***.
I'm hoping that they have a more in-tune sound unlike St. Anger and have less repeative guitar work with more rhythmic structure and solos. |

You mean a half? |
Dave mustaine's depart from metallica didn't really change them at all. They still kicked ass. They did however start changing once Cliff died. So he was probably the main songwriter back then.

Daves influence is clear though. Metal militia has such a megadeth sound to it IMO. Gudnite metallica thread |
The change in Metallica after Mustaine was out of the picture was the wrote more about flawed features while Mustaine wrote about over coming everything and him being kind **** or whatever.
|
You mean a half?
Yeah, but I was just pointing out that there were 2 people... Personally I don't really like anything Metallica has released since Master, although I still buy all their albums, and own 3 of their DVDs (Cunning Stunts, Some Kind of Monster and Cliff 'em All). I enjoy listenning to St. Anger, I mean it gets a bit repetative, but it's still fairly fast and aggressive, I like some of the guitar work a lot, so I'm looking forward to hearing their new album, I mean with Rob on bass and writing songs, it might be a new sort of funk-metal Metallica.. :naughty: I usually consider the main songwriters to be Burton, Hetfield, Ulrich and Mustaine... I am very happy Metallica kicked Mustaine out, but I still think he wrote a lot of/influenced Metallica's earlier sound, and honestly that's the only era of Metallica I enjoy. |
Mustaine went about as far as Ride the Lightning and it was only a song or two on that album. You can easily tell the difference of where is was and wasn't in Metallica and that's pretty much the songs he helped write.
Burton's only real break thru in Metallica was Master of Puppets |
Is Jason still with Voivod or is he doing something else now? I think he was only with Echobrain for one album and they broke up and he went away from the Ozzy thing.
I'm hoping this next one kicks so much *** though. Rick should put Metallica in the right direction. Oh...maybe they will release temptation on the new one!!!!!!!
Here is Jason's new project.......not really "Metal" http://www.chophouserecords.com/hoe.swf I am not sure if Voivod are still performing after thier guitarist passed. |
I heard that they are gonna break up later this year (but I can't confirm that)
Dave inspired most of Metallica's early sound. Chu! where ya been dude? hows guitar coming? Is there any sorta date on this new Metallica album? later this year? |
Does anyone see a difference from KEA to RTL? KEA is much more Immature but still a thrash classic and RTL is Mature and an awsome album. Theres a difference when Mustaine wasent there.
RTL song would of been one or 1/2 of Mustaine. the solo would have been different but dont get me wrong i love that album and that song with all my heart. Fav album/s by Metallica=KEA,RTL,MOP, and AJFA |
Burton's only real break thru in Metallica was Master of Puppets
I disagree with that, but seeing as though you say that, I'm gonna assume you don't like Ride The Lightning.
Chu! where ya been dude? hows guitar coming?
It's great actually, I've been listenning to S.C.I.E.N.C.E era Incubus heaps lately, love it, so that's what I've been playing more, it's a lot slower then Metallica :p |
Is there any sorta date on this new Metallica album? later this year?
late 2006. early 2007 i think |
They did however start changing once Cliff died. So he was probably the main songwriter back then.
As if... It's always been Hetfield/Ulrich. I'm not saying Cliff didn't contribute back then, but I highly doubt Cliff was the main creative force in the band. |
maybe it's cliff's death that changed metallica's directions not neccessarily his actual songwriting skills
|
Of course it did. Then their direction was changed once again by the introduction of Bob Rock.
|
Yo got the tickets, field tickets *rock on*
|
Good for you. :thumb:
/continues to wait for Australian tour dates |
I doubt they will be here until next year at the earliest.
|
Yeah, any other decent bands coming over here any time soon?
|
late 2006. early 2007 i think
What happened to the early 2006/ summer 2006 release dates? I fookin' hate it when there's a period of more than 2 years between albums. I need music! |
