I could use a band
Yeah me too. I'm not too great at playing though, so getting into bands is hard for me.

Walrus Gumboot 10-17-2005 09:01 AM
Same here.

NP: Frank Zappa - Peaches En Regalia
I'm in a Hot Rats mood too

NP: Son of Mr. Green Genes

I'm OK at Trombone, guitar, bass, ukulele and harmonica. I'm not really good at any of them, and I would never imagine playing anything but bass/trombone/harmonica in public. Well, maybe ukulele

But I can't get into any bands around here because they are all boy's clubs. It really sucks. Actual conversation:

Keyboardist of a band: I think we're going to be allright at the party tomorrow
Guitar: Yeah, but how are we going to do it without a bassist?
Me: I play bass...
Guitar: Maybe we could ask Luke

New Pink Floyd album?

BRILLIANT!

The_Passenger 10-17-2005 11:38 AM
Any confirmation that it's real? If it is, then my year's just been made, but there's nothing about it on any news agency that I can find on google, or on either the official site or the biggest fan site...
I know it seems a bit dodgy, but that site doesn't look like it's fake. It also seems liek a lot of information to make up for nothing.

But I really do hope it's real. Otherwise I got my hopes up for nothing.

jpj 10-17-2005 12:19 PM

Riva (the ultimate Pink Floyd fanboy) thinks it's fake. Let's hope he's wrong.

thunderkitty 10-17-2005 12:28 PM

Hey, sorry to bring up something completely unrelated, but I was just wondering, if I were to get any one Bad Company album which should it be? I'm going to the record store tomorrow and just want to be prepared. Thanks!

Woodstock 10-17-2005 12:30 PM

Whoa, I just read something on mx that made me faint. Anyone know what it was?

Um, that supposedly Pink Floyd is making a new album?

Woodstock 10-17-2005 12:33 PM

It was a rhetorical question.

Sorry.

Woodstock 10-17-2005 12:35 PM

Well, I hope this album delivers.

Lunch 10-17-2005 12:36 PM

I hope it exists.

I refuse to believe thats true, so if its not I won't be as upset. Ah, hell, theres to way I can pretend I'm not super uber happy and believe that its true.

Woodstock 10-17-2005 01:07 PM

Anybody want some Booker T. & The MG's? I could upload some.

jpj 10-17-2005 01:12 PM

*raises hand*

I do!

PinkFreud 10-17-2005 01:13 PM

which album do you have?

magicbus 10-17-2005 01:28 PM

I'll take some Booker T.

I'm also extremely skeptical about that album. I don't think that's real.

Woodstock 10-17-2005 01:32 PM

It's The Very Best of Booker T. & The MG's. Great stuff.

standard 10-17-2005 01:33 PM

No way the new Floyd album is going to happen.

The site is bullshit. Look at the album cover page.. "mmm...velvety", aswell as the "--PF" .. They are Pink Floyd, and adress themselves as Pink Floyd.. Not PF.

Come on. Obviously something someone made.

robo2448 10-17-2005 02:02 PM

I'd love some Booker T. Been looking for their stuff for a few weeks since I got the Blues Brothers soundtrack. Hard to find.

I already said my opinion on the Floyd album in the Floyd thread, but to recap, it would be awesome if it's true, but I'm not believing anything until one of the members says it's official

I'm really interested, if you dont have my email yankee_jay420@yahoo.com.

The Pink Floyd thing would be amazing. Although I dont think they would announce it on that site, maybe there official one atleast. I don't know

Reywas 10-17-2005 02:17 PM

New Pink Floyd album is not going to happen.

Broken Arrow 10-17-2005 02:17 PM

I have the best of Booker T. But send it out to the folks that dont. And I think mines pobably a different one anyways.

Woodstock 10-17-2005 02:47 PM

Just sent it out. Tell me if there's a problem with the tracks, since my CD drive may have screwed up during recording.

JonG 10-17-2005 02:48 PM

We could only dream about that Pink Floyd album.

Thanks for that and the Sly and the Family Stone. Been meaning to get into those two bands for a while.

New avatar and user title:cool:. Avatar is a little blurry, but it's Cream with some random guy in the background. Can't wait until a week from Wednesday.

Walrus Gumboot 10-17-2005 03:19 PM

Wow. I really wish that Pink Floyd bit were true. That is right up there with the Led Zeppelin tour next summer and Jimi Hendrix rising fromt he dead

EDIT: Some little freshman got tickets to see Cream. I'm so jealous. My dad pulled one of these "It's not worth it" things, just like he did with Phil Lesh and Bob Dylan. (I got past the Bob Dylan one)

JonG 10-17-2005 03:22 PM

Phil Lesh=worth it
Bob Dylan now-a-days=not worth it

robo2448 10-17-2005 03:24 PM
Phil Lesh=worth it

I really want to see Dylan. I don't really care if he sucks or not, it'd be awesome just to see him performing in person, even if he barely plays guitar or harmonica anymore. I missed out the last two times he's been in NY, once because my family was going away for the weekend, and the other because it was the night before a final exam. I'm definitely going to catch him this year though.

Walrus Gumboot 10-17-2005 03:26 PM

Bob Dylan was soooo worth it. 50$ for a ticket that got me six rows back from the stage. Possibly the best concert of my life. At least one of the best, McCartney was definatly up there
