Retarded Chipple 03-31-2007 09:44 AM

Hey...its my birthday tomorrow.

Doubt I'll get a birthday thread though :upset:

More importantly, why is like 50% of the D+P forum banned!? Like what happened that I missed out on?

the_pure_drummer 03-31-2007 09:50 AM

Don't ask me.........ive been taking outdoor pics of my kit all day. ;)

Anyone want to see......

lmldrummer 03-31-2007 09:52 AM

my birthday's wednesday, how old are you?

EDIT* why yes i do pure

coffee_spiders 03-31-2007 09:52 AM

I'm afraid to put anything outside in this place, with the ever-changing weather and all.

Sunshine 03-31-2007 09:54 AM

I just realized that when I go to college, I'm going to have to deal with that too.
I've gotten so used to the insanely predictable weather in AZ.
And Japan --- "if it's not raining today, it'll either rain tomorrow or the next day."
And if it didn't rain "tomorrow," then it would most certainly rain "the next day."
Seriously.
But St. Louis has that whole...rain-to-sun weather thing going.
Damnit =(

the_pure_drummer 03-31-2007 10:15 AM

I took my drums out on the grass layed down sheets for them to go on,

It was very windy.....Then when i got the drums all out there it started to rain....

So i took them inside...

Then it got sunny again.

I took them out again.

Snapped 12 pics quickly....

Then it started the thunder and absoulutly hammer down!

They got pretty wet but its cool.

You guys better ****ing appreciate these pics!

I'm 15 so i meant really young like 5?
But even now these 21st century 5 year olds know abit too much. o_0

Sunshine 03-31-2007 10:21 AM

Bah, I wouldn't want to be younger.
I just wish I could enjoy my 17-year-oldness a bit longer.
It's a great age if you're not restricted...
Granted a midnight curfew is better than some, but seriously, I'm going to college in 3 months =/

Ethan. 03-31-2007 10:24 AM

When you think about it, all the crap parents tell you about when you are little and you see a teenager and wish you were them, it's true. I think most people really don't think it's as great as it looked back then... I miss never getting in trouble, never having any responsibility for anything besides my new toy car.

But I can't wait for college....

MeaninglessPhoto 03-31-2007 10:25 AM

Retarded Chipple 03-31-2007 10:53 AM

Pure, you don't have to make me a birthday thread. It would be nice but considering how AWFUL this forum currently is...its better to just leave it rather than create more worthless threads!

Eh...17 is the perfect age.
Old enough to do stuff, not old enough to get in trouble as an adult ;)
But I am insanely jealous of my friends, whose parents just let them in and out whenever.

fishbulb 03-31-2007 11:26 AM
by yegger do you mean jagermeister?
Yes.

Sunshine 03-31-2007 11:29 AM

Well, I dunno.
I guess I make it sound a lot worse 'n it really is.
I do get a pretty good amount of freedom..but only if I'm a perfect little angel.
Yeah, I get a car [which I need, else I couldn't get to/from school/college because the buses don't go with my weird schedual, college doesn't HAVE buses, it's a stupidly long bike ride across town to get there, and the city bus doesn't come out to the "rich" neighborhoods], and yeah I get a midnight curfew, and yeah, I get to dress how I want [with my mom always complaining about "how provocitave I look"], but this is only because I DO NO WRONG.
~I'm *always* home on time for curfew, unless we're in a late movie that I call my parents and inform them about, because otherwise it gets pushed back
~I'm *always* in school, no skipping, and I have all A's and B's [haha, as if that's hard, seriously, art/drama/constitution?]
~I *always* do what few, menial chores I have [dishes, litterbox, nothin' special]

Yadda yadda yadda.
So it's a weird, un-free freedom sort of thing, and it bothers me greatly.

Jezen 03-31-2007 11:30 AM

I bought a Remo Fiberskyn 3 FA for my piccolo snare. I wanted it mainly for brushy stuff in the studio.

It was meant to be £14 but I got it for £10 because they didn't have the box to go with it. I haven't put it on my piccolo yet, but i'll go do it now :)

look closely, the bass drum reso head says TAMA, but the lugs, tom mounts and badges scream MAPEX

The Ska Man 03-31-2007 11:33 AM

I wanna know how it soundsssss! I might actually go for something like that with Aquarian's Modern Vintage. I might go for the Remo's. Either way, I wanna find out a bit more 'bout'em.

I think it's a really great head actually. I didn't get to play it much though because of my dickhead neighbour, but it tuned up really really easily, and it sounds like an ambassador but a bit softer. It's great for brushwork, because it's not as harsh as other heads.

Seafroggys 03-31-2007 11:57 AM

17 was a not-so-good age for me. 18 was the best, because I was 18 for 7 months before I graduated, so I still lacked the adult responsibility crap, but I had no legal restrictions on anything. Hell, even for the summer following I had no real adult responsibilities either.

Static 03-31-2007 12:00 PM

I hated being 17 :(.

Sunshine 03-31-2007 12:08 PM

I like 17.
It's going to be...interesting, being 17 and in college for the entire first semester.

Sunshine 03-31-2007 12:17 PM

I could've graduated last year while I was 16 and turned 17 after my first semester, but my mom wouldn't let me go to real college if I did that, and Cochise Community College isn't worth it --- the credits don't count anywhere outside of AZ.

stevensonmat2 03-31-2007 12:20 PM

that must be a really crappy comunity college

Josiah 03-31-2007 12:20 PM

^It's actually the state. AZ has some whack stuff actually

Sunshine 03-31-2007 12:22 PM

That, and it's a really crappy community college.

I mean, I actually had to take a placement test to get into English 101, because there are two Englishes before it: English 010 [English ten wtf] and English 100.

Because the massive number of Mexicans.

I half-assed the test and took it in like 15 minutes and got a 92% =/
