I was just pointing out they hardly ever write their own songs, so stealings not a huge stretch.

Ya because those are basically the same thing and go hand in hand.

Idiot.

/busted by the pop police.

I must say, post-The Wall Floyd seems to get a lot more love in this thread than it used to.

rippa32 04-15-2007 10:14 PM

Yeah ive found with alot of bands people start to like the more "obscure" stuff after a while, gives it time to grow on them. I remember hating albums from bands but after a while they become favourites.

Bob Rock 04-15-2007 10:17 PM

Hi guys Bob Rock here,

I love pink floyd we used to listen to it when we were on acid.

Any questions/comments?

Danger Bird 04-15-2007 11:14 PM

Go to hell would be my main comment.

magicbus 04-15-2007 11:15 PM

And my main question.

Did Metallica pick Rick Rubin over you to produce their new album because St. Anger sounded like ass so much?
Did Metallica pick Rick Rubin over you to produce their new album because St. Anger sounded like ass so much?
That was what we were going for, we all contributed, only the true fans will understand. Right now I made half of Metallicas albums, more than any other of their producers. St Anger was a statement, "We're old and alcohol isn't the answer"

magicbus 04-15-2007 11:25 PM

I still prefer your work on Little Caesar's self titled.

Bob Rock 04-15-2007 11:26 PM

Hi guys, Bob Rock here

Your mother told me you have a Little Caesar

magicbus 04-15-2007 11:29 PM

I still prefer your work on Blue Murder's self titled.

Bob Rock 04-15-2007 11:29 PM

Hi guys, Bob Rock here

I suggest you shut your trap.

magicbus 04-15-2007 11:31 PM

I STILL prefer your work on Kingdom Come's self titled.

EDIT: And Tal Bachman? Seriously Bob.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-15-2007 11:33 PM
I still prefer your work on Blue Murder's self titled.
Dude, what are you talking about? Slippery When Wet was Bob's production masterpiece.

Bob Rock 04-15-2007 11:34 PM

Hi guys, Bob Rock here

I think load and St Anger were my best masterpieces

espiecally St anger I played the bass for that album imo.

Trembling Willows 04-16-2007 10:29 AM

hey i know it might be a lil late but could someone please send me the audio for Live In Pompeii please?

I will give you much love :)

Thanks in advance :)

Trembling Willows 04-19-2007 10:19 AM

Oh and where should i probably go next from Ummagumma? i dont really like the studio album although there are good bits, but the bit i love is the live album.

So where should i go? Forward to Atom Heart Mother and Meddle or back to Saucerful Of Secrets and Piper At The Gates of Dawn?

P.S. i have everything beyond and including dark side im just looking at the older stuff now :)

CockeyedMaverik 04-19-2007 12:03 PM

i suggest atom heart mother. but at this point the only thing that matters is you keep on listening.

magicbus 04-19-2007 12:10 PM

Meddle is one of my favorites, period. I suggest checking that if you haven't yet.

Leper 04-19-2007 02:32 PM

I'd say pick up Meddle and SOS. Why not take a sample of both eras?

Collis 04-19-2007 03:29 PM

Meddle, go go go. You can listen to Echoes that way ...

Riva 04-19-2007 04:47 PM

If you liked the live half of Ummagumma then your best bets are Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and A Saucerful Of Secrets, since those are from the same era. Meddle and Atom Heart Mother more closely resemble the studio half of Ummagumma. All 4 are great albums, of course.

Montana 04-19-2007 05:54 PM

I've been listening to Ummagumma, Meddle and Obscured by Clouds a lot lately. So good.

Lunch 04-19-2007 08:05 PM

I would go with Piper and Meddle next.

Danger Bird 04-19-2007 08:37 PM

Saucerful of Secrets for sure, coming from the number 1 Ummagumma fan. And yes, I'll send you the audio.

MattSharpIsCool 04-19-2007 09:28 PM

I need to listen to AHM a little more. I never really got into it the first few times I listened, and I kind of gave up on it.

It has a guy eating breakfast on it. How can that be a bad CD?

Leper 04-19-2007 10:50 PM
Because it's boring and annoying to listen to?...or were you being sarcastic..?

As you can tell I'm not much of an AHM fan.

MattSharpIsCool 04-19-2007 11:21 PM

Eh, that comment was more for the lulz than anything serious.

I havent listened to AHM enough to really have an opinion. The few times I've listened to it, it's seemed pretty sub-par.

Leper 04-19-2007 11:27 PM

Has Vancouver finished off Dallas yet?

/off topic

MattSharpIsCool 04-19-2007 11:30 PM

They could have tonight, but Dallas won 1-0 in OT. So Vancouver is up 3-2 in the series now.

Leper 04-19-2007 11:36 PM

Damn it! I was gonna keep watching the game but I didn't.

/back on topic

David Gilmour had awesome hair back in the day.

rippa32 04-20-2007 12:36 AM

I agree, not this short hair now. That must be why Roger left.

Leper 04-20-2007 12:46 AM

It's ok, old people usually look ridiculous with long hair anyway. i.e. Willy Nelson. But I love Willy so it's ok.

I pretty much have terrible taste in music but I love Alan's Psychedlic Breakfast so much. The crunching of the cereal and:
Marmalade - I like marmalade
it's prob my favorite song on that album

Danger Bird 04-20-2007 08:19 AM

AHM is so good. The opening suite, Fat Old Sun, and If are great tunes.

magicbus 04-20-2007 08:37 AM

I should listen to it again. I never really liked AHM because of the orchestra and choir. It seemed like they weren't the Floyd I was used to with all that extra stuff. The bluesy part in the middle is sick though.

I'll give it another shot though.

Trembling Willows 04-20-2007 12:41 PM

Thanks for replies guys.

Think i'm gonna get Meddle next, have been leaning that way anyway. Then probably AHM. I think Piper will be the last one i get
