Dt themselves.

And once I'm at it: I would like to see Myung write lyrics/poetry again.
that would be the best thing to happen to DT in a long while imo.
Yeah, Learning to Live has some excellent lyrics (which Myung wrote.) I think Rudess is an awesome player, although Moore has the edge in composition.
surrounded solo sucks
So does your mother, although I don't complain, nightly.

Anyway, I realised how really cool the intro to 6:0 is.
Actually the whole song is awesome, I need to get into Awake more.
I never really liked Pull Me Under that much... just don't see the magic. :upset:
What!? Live it's mindblowing with everyone screaming the chorus. Ahh memories... :p

6:00 is the only song I don't like off of Awake.

Lord Abortion 11-16-2005 03:19 PM

The intro is really ...Jazzy?

is that the right word?

scenesfromatheater 11-16-2005 03:19 PM
I need to get into Awake more.
The vocals on Innocence Faded are just incredible, that's the song that made me love the album. Also, Lifting Shadaws... has some awsome vocals in it as well, as well as some killer riffs. Awake and I&W = James Labrie at his best.

scenesfromatheater 11-16-2005 03:21 PM
6:00 is the only song I don't like off of Awake.
Same here. I don't like PMU 'cause I don't think it starts off the album very well 'cause it's not really like any of the other songs. That's why I don't like 6:00 either, not a very good album opener.

Innocence Faded at 2:22 woooooowww.

Lord Abortion 11-16-2005 03:22 PM

I love his vocals on Misunderstood from 6DOIT, that takes some beating, it's actually quite close to the 8VM ballads in style.

Triangle 11-16-2005 03:22 PM

Those who are members of the DT forum get this-

mp3s of the 24th in Hammersmith concert.

scenesfromatheater 11-16-2005 03:27 PM

Nice one:thumb: .

From what I can see of the first half of the gig, it's the same set list as Wolverhampton up to Fatal Tragedy. They played Home for SFAM and then played the Glass Prison for 6DOIT after the interval.

EDIT: wow, listening to that opening track, I can remember the rush I got from that before they came on. The intro to TROAE wasa sending tingles down my spine.

GenuineImitation 11-16-2005 03:55 PM

Thanks for the link. I can't wait for the second half.

NP:TROAE (live at Wolverhampton)

IbanezSamurai 11-16-2005 04:10 PM
I wouldn't.

The Moore era was amazing, but DT have evolved now, and this is the perfect lineup. With Rudess in the band DT have recorded some of their best albums, and he bought them a new lease of life after the dissapointing Sherinian era. Sure I'd love to see KM maybe appear with DT for a one off live performance, but I'm more than happy with Rudess in the band.

Have any of you KM fans checked out any Chroma Key? Its rather good.
I agree, although Sheranian wasnt all that bad, its just that he didnt really fit in real well, probably his over the top glamour.

I find that picture funny due to his lack of masculinity. (Not saying he favors an alternative life stlye, but it looks that way.)

He's no more flamboyant than Steve Vai, or David Lee Roth for that matter.

Guys who look like that who burn at instruments tend to get a lot of poon.

EDIT: Ibanez, that is some truly funny stuff.
if I had the choice, I'd kick Rudess out of the band and get Moore back :(
kicking rudess out wouldn't bring moore back. he wouldn't even play with them when they invited him to do a couple songs (i think it was the metropolis 2000 show that they invited him to). it's a shame too, i would've loved to hear a double keyboard version of learning to live and hear space-dye vest live at all.

and ibanez that's awesome. any recordings of that show?

Where is the quote from A Fortune in Lies from?

I have been on holiday and so haven't been on in a while. God I've missed this place!
Has anyone ever heard Fozzy? Or Chris Jericho sing? It sucks!

Indeed it does.

Cain 11-17-2005 10:57 AM

When I first heard the name, I thought they were an unimaginative Ozzy Osbourne tribute band.
When I first heard the name, I thought they were an unimaginative Ozzy Osbourne tribute band.
Well they were supposed to be something like that. I heard their original name was supposed to be Fozzy Osbourne, at least thats what I heard from a friend, true or not, still stupid.
Has anyone ever heard Fozzy? Or Chris Jericho sing? It sucks!
When I first heard Fozzy and "To Kill a Stranger" I didn't think his vocals were to bad, it reminded me a lot of early 80's hair metal or something like that. Their music is alright, but nothing I would buy.

scenesfromatheater 11-18-2005 07:29 AM

Fozzy were alright at download. Better than some of the awful bands like My Chemical Romance and Funeral for a Friend (not that I was watching them instead of Slayer)

IbanezSamurai 11-18-2005 04:09 PM

I've heard that there was supposed to be a Scenes From a Memory play in the production.

Haha, I remember asking that in this thread a few months back.

I think there was only one show of it in New York or something like that. I'm not sure though, I don't remember much...

Yes, yes there is. Its a 1 or 2 night event. I think it may be over already though.

scenesfromatheater 11-18-2005 04:14 PM

I also heard it wasn't that good...but I probably just dreamt someone telling me that...

I kind of doubt it was any good, SFAM just doesn't seem like good play material...

What did you think it was?

I did not hear if the play was good or not, but it was created and produced by your average joe. I don't think the guy has any theater experience, so I doubt it was great.

Not much. I can't say a guys voice has ever led me to an orgasim though.
