The Replacements - Let It Be, thanks to Zappa.

Also, The Slim Shady EP. I'd forgotten what a great song Murder Murder is.

Doctor D. 05-01-2005 03:18 PM

I just went to the library and checked out :

De La Soul - 3 ft High And Rising
RZA As Bobby Digital - Didgital Bullet
Shellac - At Action park
Poster Children - New World Record
Fishbone - The Psychotic Freinds Netwerk
Tom Waits - Bone Machine

I'll be digging these for the week.

ATM 05-01-2005 03:19 PM

Wow your library is cool. Mine doesn't have anything nearly that good.

Bukowski 05-01-2005 04:27 PM

Been listenin' to some Jesus Lizard. God, they're good.

Dog 05-01-2005 04:36 PM

Elbow - Cast of Thousands

Zappa 05-01-2005 04:51 PM

I just downloaded a 1966 release entitled Black Monk Time by garage rock band The Monks. It's one of the coolest rock albums I've gotten in a long time. Imagine an even more primitive version of The Stooges with organ, and you have a very rough idea of what they're like.

Cool. Who's in your avatar? It looks like a young Rob Halford from Judas Priest.
Cool. Who's in your avatar? It looks like a young Rob Halford from Judas Priest.
Gary Burger, lead singer of The Monks.

Happymeal 05-01-2005 06:31 PM
Woven Hand - Consider the Birds
That's such a good album. A shame it doesn't get enough recognition.

Zappa 05-01-2005 06:39 PM
Indian Summer and Nomeansno, thanks to IhateUsernames
NoMeansNo were incredible.

I've been diggin me some Ted Leo.
And I'm representing with a new avatar.

br3ad_man 05-01-2005 08:45 PM

I am also digging Ted Leo. I've had this album of his for the longest time and I'm only really getting into it now. I kick myself.

Zappa 05-01-2005 09:01 PM

Yeah, I seem to be pretty late on the uptake with these guys. Of course, I've never been that big on 60s rock after all.

Little Man being Erased 05-01-2005 10:28 PM

I got myself a few new albums yesterday.

Daft Punk - Homework
Air - Talkie Walkie
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth

Currently listening to NIN and so far it sounds pretty darn good.

pixiesfanyo 05-02-2005 05:24 AM

Jaga Jazzist

Agitated_Barry 05-02-2005 12:47 PM

The Dears - The Death Of All The Romance
Willy Mason - His album has some good songs like Oxygen and Hard Hand To Hold plus a song called Live It Up which isn't on the album
The Secret Machines - Nowhere Again
Louis XIV
Maximo Park

asymm 05-02-2005 12:51 PM

Of Montreal - "The Sunlandic Twins" LP
The LP came with a bonus 12" which had an opposite side with an etching on it... it's very very cool.

Scott Herren 05-02-2005 12:55 PM

I like the new Moby album.

Iai2 05-02-2005 01:13 PM

You're the first person I've heard say that.

Luxor 05-02-2005 01:26 PM

Jurassic 5 is the shit.

Doctor D. 05-02-2005 03:06 PM

Good lord The Poster Children are taking over my mind.

Iai2 05-02-2005 03:14 PM

Another day of downloading has meant I am now digging The Replacements, The Pogues, and Tori Amos.

Luxor 05-02-2005 03:16 PM

Ok, so I downloaded Phrenology by The Roots, and it's decent. But a lot of the tracks are slow and crappy. ex - "Sacrafice".

What I want to know is what album should I get next, that has more tracks similar to "Rock You", or "Water".

Zappa 05-02-2005 03:20 PM

Songs: Ohia

I get alternative & indie points.

Iai2 05-02-2005 03:28 PM

Honestly? Something that's not by The Roots.

Luxor 05-02-2005 03:39 PM
Honestly? Something that's not by The Roots.
Oh poo. :(

Those songs are great though, as well as the second last track.

talk show host 05-02-2005 04:12 PM

I'm listening to the new Dredg album for the second time now.

It reminds me a lot more of Leitmotif than El Cielo. I wasn't too keen the first time I heard it, but now i'm getting quite into it.

pixiesfanyo 05-02-2005 04:19 PM

The Comas
Afghan Whigs

Little Man being Erased 05-02-2005 04:26 PM

I'm listening to Daft Punk's Homework this fine mornin'.

Bartender 05-02-2005 04:34 PM
Another day of downloading has meant I am now digging The Replacements, The Pogues, and Tori Amos.
Which Pogues?
I've been listening to Devo, Talking Heads, and The Decembrists today. I've also been on an unsuccesful trek into town to look for anywhere that's even heard of Delotron 3030, but with no success. :(
I've found it in a couple of stores (including HMV), but it's consistently priced at £19.99 for some reason.

I'm digging nothing different to last time especially, so nothing to say there.

Iai2 05-03-2005 05:04 AM
Which Pogues?
Just downloaded If I Should Fall......

Don't suppose you saw Channel 4's Most X-Rated Musical Moments, did you? The Pogues were on it, for The Birmingham Six.

incubliss 05-03-2005 05:32 AM

yourcodenameis:milo

the album Ignoto is out, and i've got it. it's a very good album, and i think a step up from the mini album All Roads To Fault. it's very brooding, and quite epic. i'm especially digging the songs Fivefour, 2-Stone, The General, and Empty Feat.

11 out of the 12 songs are fecking ace, apart from Yesterdays Head, i wasn't to keen on that one.

9/10 from me, check it out brothers and sisters.

br3ad_man 05-03-2005 05:55 AM
You're the first person I've heard say that.
You obviously haven't heard me then.

Today I'm digging Talking Heads and The Strokes.

Iai2 05-03-2005 03:01 PM

Well, everyone I've heard talking about it has said the ambient bonus disc is great, but the main album sucks.

Today at work, I dug -

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Johnny Cash - American IV
Tori Amos - Crucify EP
The Pogues - If I Should Fall From Grace With God

Iai2 05-03-2005 03:03 PM

Hey, I just opened a CD wallet my dad just gave me, and it has Basement Jaxx's greatest hits in it! Awesome.

Electrocution 05-03-2005 03:31 PM

I've been listening to The Pixies almost non-stop for the past few days. I also just started to listen to Stars' Set Yourself on Fire.

asymm 05-03-2005 03:48 PM

Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die
Wonderful, eccentric indie pop. I can see people looking for a slightly less spastic Fiery Furnaces find this as something worthwhile...

ATM 05-03-2005 05:23 PM

I've got the album if you want it/

I've been digging Smashing Pumpkins and Sneaker Pimps today.
