Lucky you!

ace76543 02-05-2008 09:53 AM

lol school's locked down

billdrum 02-05-2008 09:55 AM

For what?

ace76543 02-05-2008 09:57 AM

dunno, VP came on and was like "level 2 lockdown" (means there's a crazy guy outside). i can still go on the computer though, all the windows are covered up and stuff.

TTTSNB 02-05-2008 10:01 AM

Lol @ schools. Why can't they just say "There's a crazy guy outside, stay in your rooms."

ace76543 02-05-2008 10:03 AM

lol i dunno. there's been one lockdown per week in toronto since the start of 2008 though.

...lol

billdrum 02-05-2008 10:04 AM

Because invariably some idiot(s) will not follow simple instructions and someone will get hurt. Then the school gets sued for it.

ace76543 02-05-2008 10:07 AM

good point. the word "lockdown" screams serious business.

i hope i'm not in here long. i'm really hungry

billdrum 02-05-2008 10:10 AM

Doesn't a nice big sandwich piled high with roast beef and swiss, with a bowl of tomato soup sound really good? Oh, sorry.....

ace76543 02-05-2008 10:12 AM

lol what a bitch.

coming up on 4k posts, i see

billdrum 02-05-2008 10:16 AM

Close. I had a turkey/salami/pepper jack sandwich on potato bread with Chunky Chicken Noodle. Still yummy though.

Off to work in an hour :(

billdrum 02-05-2008 10:23 AM

Still deciding what I'm going to have for lunch. Car's in the shop, so I'm on foot, which limits my choices.

MeaninglessPhoto 02-05-2008 10:45 AM

Im not sure man. You could always get a pizza delivered if you dont feel like making something yourself.

billdrum 02-05-2008 10:49 AM

I'm at work, so making something isn't an option. Since it's now pouring rain here, I may just have Jimmy John's deliver.

MeaninglessPhoto 02-05-2008 10:52 AM

ah nice nice. Ive never had a Jimmy Johns' before but theres 2 or 3 in Raleigh so I might try em sometime.

billdrum 02-05-2008 11:04 AM

They're good...not special, but good.

How could someone sue for that? The blame should be placed on the person suing in that case. Besides...in the average suburban school...the chances of something truly dangerous happening are about 1 in a million. Seems like paranoia to me. Sure- know what to do if something happens, but don't declare "lockdown" every three seconds.

billdrum 02-05-2008 11:14 AM

Unfortunately, that's the society we live in. If something happens at school, it's the schools' fault, even if it's something stupid done by a rogue idiot. So the schools have to cover their asses by being extra cautious. Blame the lawyers and the idiots who file (and often win) frivolous lawsuits. Everybody always wants to blame someone else, especially if there's cash involved.

Remember me guys? I'm back.

If you don't remember me, I used to be on the forums way back when it was MXTabs (went by the name RavEMasteR or something like that).

That was probably 5~6 years ago, can't remember. Used to be the target of roasting by Josiah and a bunch of other people for being a total newb. I was young and stupid, first by being a total Travis Barker fanboy, and then a Mike Portnoy fanboy.

Well, I'm back again. I'm not here for roasting or trolling though. I'm starting drums again, this time from the bottom up. I've been out of practice, and the only thing that has remotely kept my drumming alive is Rock Band (funny how all my friend's jaws dropped when they saw me play RB for the first time. Was doing decently on Hard within 2~3 songs. :) ).

I don't think Rock Band is any decent practice for a real drum kit, and over the years I've gained a much better understanding of the beauty of music. I have found such great passion within the simplest pieces.

Ah, enough rambling. I'm back to learn about drums, not tell you my life's story.

I'll be waiting 24hrs before I start a thread for a question I have in mind...

billdrum 02-05-2008 12:04 PM

Welcome back then. How'd you get all the negative rep after just one post?

Yeah I realize that, I just find it to be quite a ridiculous situation for everyone involved.

You gave em to me? :)

Seafroggys 02-05-2008 12:14 PM

holy crap I remember you Ravemaster! You were here at least in 2004. Which is.....4 years ago. I've been here too long.

I remember your avatar was of you, and you were asian. And yes a ton of people always pounded on your idiocy.

Chippy569 02-05-2008 12:18 PM

i remember you too :)

billdrum 02-05-2008 12:18 PM

Ahhh, that was before my time. No, I didn't give you your bad rep.

Edit...there, I knocked one of your red bars off!

TTTSNB 02-05-2008 12:20 PM
I totally agree!
Yeah. The judicial system is for legitimate disputes...not to serve as a source of cash.

Young and stupid I say. Well, no matter. That chapter of my life has closed.

Since then, I've been into fencing, martial arts, and now I'm racing cars too. None of them seems to provide the rush I get from music though.
