Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 07:19 PM

Chris do you know why DEP is such a sore topic around Hardcore/EMO forum. Rancid Dan basically got a boococky by everyone.

You too :thumb:

Don't worry about Hardcore/Emo, it's a terrible forum.

Big Neg. It's a knowledgible but elitest one. Which isn't a bad thing.

Yes it is. Knowledge isn't useful when everyone's too stuck up to share it :)

Good forums educate users rather than flame them out of the forum.

ColdFire 05-05-2005 07:26 PM

Goodnight.

We have educated many on the genre's I'd say. More then any education here I believe. There are sometimes though where the guy get's facialed for saying From Autumn to Ashes is screamo though :thumb:

Oh...you consider yourself part of that circle jerk...well then there's no use trying to convince you its a bad forum.

Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 07:35 PM

What would your idea of a good forum be then. I haven't even actually seen that many bad posts/hate mail in the hardcore/emo forum. Being a communist forum isn't actually that bad.

Good forums: S&L way back when. R&M if all the idiots disappeared. Pop-Punk if people got motivated. Hardcore if all the circle jerking disappeared and the elitism by all you 15-16 year olds cut out.

Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 07:41 PM

S&L got really... well overrun

R&M was never good.

Pop-punk in it's hayday but it seems as if the moderators EVEN quit on this forum.

My favorite forum has to be Bass still. The most helpful and alot of good musician's flow around there.

lstprphtspnk12 05-05-2005 07:42 PM

Feeling really dumb, but whats S&L?

Permanent Solution 05-05-2005 07:43 PM

That's why I said way back when :)

Notice my condition for it to be good. If that happened it would easily be the best.

Yeah, pretty much...note all the conditions I put on what I listed :)

Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 07:43 PM

Song & Lyrics

It still has it's epics but it's definitely running low on gas. Speaking on elitest forums I'd say that forum was mellow but harsh at times. Some are the song's are sick though.

Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 07:44 PM

I don't even know what happened here it seemed like I went comotose for like 4 months straight the first person to ask "Um where the f is Dan" was either Chris or Jon I can't remember and then when I came back it was a British tea party.

cbmartinez 05-05-2005 08:00 PM

That was me. I hella missed you. So what if the kids in Hardcore And Emo are elitist? We don't care about how you heard your first DEP song or went to a show. The same kind of stuff goes on in R&M, it's just a bigger forum so it doesn't get noticed as much.

I'm sorry!! :upset:

PDWAB 05-05-2005 08:21 PM

Also: elitism pisses me off to no end, which is why I started hella enforcing the "No band bashing rule" in here. I have a hard time believing elitists actually enjoy music, since they're so hostile to the vast majority of it.

hey, you're not cory! 05-05-2005 08:21 PM

i missed dan too because i had the most in common with him as far as musical tastes went. now i don't though, and i have no one to cling to :upset:

Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 08:24 PM

I don't think my musical tastes changed michael son, just evolved.

Only the tr00 metalheads are really elitist and I don't like them either. Most of the posters aren't too elitist though. In fact, we welcome any non-idiots to our community. The last one we were really hostile to was the guy who was asking what to do about voices in his head.

hey, you're not cory! 05-05-2005 08:32 PM

its kinda the same thing.

its not a bad thing though, its just that you were always the one i could talk to about that poppy screaming stuff that jon and chris aren't as fond of.

cbmartinez 05-05-2005 08:33 PM

Rock And Metal has always seemed unwelcoming to me, but there are a lot of factors. I'm not the biggest fan of metal and I think you're right, it really has improved.

Understanding In a Crash 05-05-2005 08:33 PM

My only stereotype about R&M has to be a bunch of guy's with long hair who hate emo, listen to bands who's prime was 20 years ago, and loves Dream Theater/Metallica/Both.

Nightvision 05-05-2005 08:33 PM

You still could hoosier. It's just I'll have one ear with BTBAM and one with the silverstein :thumb:

hey, you're not cory! 05-05-2005 08:36 PM

i know, i wasn't saying anything bad about you. i really enjoy you and jon's music tastes too, you both turned me on to some great bands. but back before dan and me liked almost all of the same bands with a small few exceptions.

but you do like piebald so you get points for that

i don't really like Silverstein.

PDWAB 05-05-2005 08:38 PM

You know what bugs me? When white people talk about rap music. Not like when they're dissing it or anything, but when they're praising it. They make it sound so BORING.
