I got a suggestion, how about we get rid of ***OFFICIAL*** threads? Whenever some retard comes to register they see it and say to themselves 'lol my band d3s3rv3s 1 2!" Too many people misunderstand the point of them, and a lot of them we dont need(Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, etc.)

Now in some cases like the Metallica thread, we can change the title to "Only post about Metallica in this thread"
Well thats because a large number of users nowadays are idiots.
Well, some are, but some of the users who are against the mods are actually quite intelligent.

It's mainly because the users think that some of the mods are a bit too arrogant and/or too strict for the forum's good. I do see what they're saying, but we have to enforce the rules. If we let the forums go without rules, the whole site would be like the days of Rock & Metal without an active mod.

I guess you're right, I was just thinking n00bs. The R&M mods seem to be popular with most of the regulars though.

3074326 01-14-2005 09:52 PM

Yeah, we're fairly down to earth.

Bartender and I have been here for a good while, so most of the users have gotten to know us over the years. Haha

Yeah, and Superpeer is a good guy too. :)

3074326 01-14-2005 09:55 PM

Haha, all of the R&M mods are great guys.

I haven't talked to Jelle or Ken for a while. :(

Luckily those are problems with the Pit retards that cry about their spam threads being closed, and not us.

3074326 01-14-2005 10:05 PM

Yeah, I'm happy with the regulars in the forums that I mod, and I believe they're happy with the mods in those forums. :)

opeth_oasis 01-15-2005 12:28 AM

Just asking, would a thread made about jeff buckley be acceptable?

Bartender 01-15-2005 12:29 AM

Yep, though if you're wanting info or something on him, Alt/Indie would be the place to go. I think Med is planning one as we speak.

opeth_oasis 01-15-2005 12:32 AM

thanks for that:thumb:

wrong forum

EDIT: I know it'll probably have been got by the time I post this, but http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290229 should be in classifieds by my reckoning.

bomber 01-15-2005 12:15 PM

In my opinion i think there should be an official new release discussion thread made by a mod, because i have a vision of the r&m forum being taken over by new soad or g 'n' r albums etc. Just a thought though.

Kingofdudes 01-15-2005 12:59 PM

In my opinion we got way too many official threads as it is.

Who would you meet thread. Not sure if it's against the rules totally, but better to be safe than sorry.

Wouldn't work. You'd have people in there trying to talk about the new Blink 182 album and other people trying to talk about the latest Immolation. It would be confusing, and a flamefest.

I think Ken made a thread for this, about identifying songs through lyrics or whatever. Either way, it didn't need a new thread.

Hopelessly redundant vs. thread.
