Trivium would be fun to see. I've been denied seeing them twice... There should be a tour of Iron Maiden, Metallica, and AC/DC. Just tour whereever they want as many nights as they want. It would be so awesome.
That would be kick *** to see 'tallica, AC/DC and Iron Maiden together on a tour

I can't really see Trivium fitting in with a 'tallica tour but that would be sweet. I know that they are fans of 'tallica and 'tallica likes them as well (Kirk in GW)

.:Thrasher:. 02-14-2006 12:15 AM
I would love to go.

See Tallica and Trivium again.

I need some money...
I think they would. They're a similar stlye to Metallica and wouldn't be a bad choice to open for them.

Britton 02-14-2006 10:45 AM

It would be awesome to have Trivium tour with Metallica. I would pay anything to see that. As for AC-DC and Tallica...no way. Maiden yes acdc no

I think I might pick up garage inc today....

Jev 02-14-2006 11:57 AM

Haha my thougts exactly. I'm not a fan of AC/DC.

Doctor Night 02-14-2006 12:52 PM

I don't like em either
I think they're really poor to be honest

Doctor Night 02-14-2006 12:56 PM
So who here's going Download?
I wanna go to something. What that something is I don't know.

The_Ownage 02-14-2006 01:41 PM

I want to see Metallica play here sometime. But since Mississippi is so lame, they probably never will. Oh well. lol

Kyle 02-14-2006 02:20 PM

I don't like ACDC, but I'd love to see them live.

Doctor Night: You might aswell go to Leeds if you live there, the carling line-ups aren't alwyas as strong as other fests but they have the best atmosphere, and usually some really strong bands.

Download's probably gonna have the best line-up metal music wise but I'm yet to see the full line-up or the line-up for Reading and Leeds.

Father_Jack 02-15-2006 06:45 AM

I am hoping to get some cash and just get a one-day ticket for download if they are selling one dayers. I really can't afford the whole weekend.

I am hoping Megadeth will be on at Leeds/Reading. If not they best do another tour.

Squirrel 02-15-2006 07:08 AM

Wasn't their last date here meant to be their last ever UK date ?

Jev 02-15-2006 07:43 AM
Wasn't their last date here meant to be their last ever UK date ?
Yeah but Dave decided to keep going with Megadeth.

Squirrel 02-15-2006 09:11 AM

Scam to get ticket sales ++

Iceman-rocker 02-15-2006 11:34 AM

hey heres some good distortions u can get with a line 6 spider II
you need a metal zone pedal (boss), and a metal master pedal (digitech)

set channel on the red twang with no gain, about 1/4 bass, higher mid, and medium trebel. use the metal master with this clean. some really nice rhythm for metal. you can almost get dimebags distortion.

for lead guitar, i have a channel on red metal, with gain about half way up, and eq everything about half way up. (this is a pretty good stand alone distortion already) and then i use the metal zone to boost volume, and or eq and gain (dont add much gain on the pedal otherwise it fuzzes) add some reverb. =) killer sustain.

but yeah. i was just thinking the other day that i could tell that mustaine wrote the solo for ktulu. it just sounds more like his style than kirks.
anyone else think so?

Almost as much as your post...

I'm getting my amp at the end of the month. And I'm gonna be able to record some stuff again. So I'm wondering which Metallica song I should do al the way through? I know pretty much all the classics (bar creeping death) and I can play them all very well.

So which one should I do?

The Call of Ktulu.
Has excellent clean phrases, good riffs, and quality lead parts.

That's a good Idea...It will probably be that one (or any of the other intrumentals) or One or MOP

Sorry to own you....I was just playing around.

I would really like to do to live is to die

Stormrider 02-15-2006 02:33 PM

To Live is To Die would be pretty cool.

Learn the rest of Creeping Death :p

Father_Jack 02-15-2006 02:37 PM

Yeah. That and Ktulu are the better instumentals.

MOP would be a little boring without vocals, but One would work.

N.P. To Live is to Die

Stormrider 02-15-2006 02:41 PM

To be honest I havnt listened to To Live is To Die in a while.

I would rather One with vocals. I love the Land mine has taken my sight... part.

Yeah, if he can find a backing track with just the guitars taken away, that would be cool.

By the way Britton, what amp are you getting?

Jev 02-15-2006 04:40 PM

I'd say learn the whole of Creeping Death. The solo's a bit of a bitch though.

Stormrider 02-15-2006 05:25 PM

Creeping Death is probably my favorite Metallica song to play along to. Let alone one of my favorite 'Tallica songs.

Mr.Metalton 02-15-2006 09:39 PM

guys this is the truth about the drum set of St. Anger

Most fun 'Tallica Songs = Creeping Death, Harvestor of Sorrow

Bazarov 02-15-2006 09:58 PM

I don't know. When they played One. It was the climax of the concert for me.

Sph 02-15-2006 11:44 PM

I'm starting to really get into their covers. Am I Evil? and Last Caress sound cool live.

Romanticide 02-16-2006 12:46 AM
i think its the bassline from the intro to "for whom the bell tolls". havent seen the movie in a while though.
cheers dude.

me and me band mates have been playing this together recently...even i have to admit we do a kick arse version ...

we've added a separate guitar solo plus and a bass solo for me...the whole thing goes for about 7 mins now.
