Buddy Holly was so cool. He had the sweetest glasses.

About two years ago, in my Spanish class, we watched La Bamba (about Richie Valens). A bunch of people were shocked at the end when the plane blew up

Broken Arrow 10-16-2005 03:15 PM

angusmaster 10-16-2005 04:28 PM

Not a single musician comes from where i live or probably a 100 mile distance around me,The closest i know of is some outskirts of atlanta, some country music singers are from there and another country singer is from knoxville.

Glitterati 10-16-2005 04:31 PM

I forgot Alice Cooper was from Detroit. I like Alice Cooper.

Aren't you in Tennessee? Like every country/bluegrass/folk musician ever lives there or in the mountains of NC.

But I know what you mean about rock musicians :(

robo2448 10-16-2005 04:37 PM

John Lennon lived in NYC for years. I've been to the spot in central park where he was killed a bunch of times. There's a little monument there called Strawberry Fields, a ton of people come there on December 8th. I bought an Imagine drawing from a guy off the street there one time. It's pretty cool.

np- Pigs (3 Different Ones) (live from the concert Roger spits on the fan)

I thought he was killed in his appartment

We almost went to strawberry fields when the drama club went to see "12 Angry men", but it was way out of the way. That was when the gates were up

Some of my sister's friends went to Jim Morrison's grave in France. That must have been a cool grave to visit. Possibly the coolest.

Lunch 10-16-2005 04:49 PM

12 Angry Men (the movie) rules.

Illmatic 10-16-2005 04:49 PM

He was killed outside his apartment building, I believe.

One of my friends saw Jimi Hendrix's childhood home in Seattle

I bet Jim Morrison has a really cool grave.

He was leaving his apartment with Yoko and going for a walk through central park. He lived in the Dakota building, which is basically in central park. He and Yoko walked through central park every night. That would be awesome to just be in central park and see John Lennon. He was shot outside though, not in the building. And yes, Morrison's grave would be awesome.

Walrus Gumboot 10-16-2005 05:03 PM

Wow, I have been quoted four times, this must be a record :p

I have never seen the movie, but the play was awesome. One of the assholes I play Trombone with has a dad that plays one of the jurors, so we got to have an interview and a backstage tour with the whole cast after the show

EDIT:Congradulations, DMV, for being the first I have seen to use to location box to put lyrics in, something that I'm sure will catch on, and eventually be elimianted

Lunch 10-16-2005 05:03 PM

I imagine the play would be very similar to the movie.

BludgeonySteve 10-16-2005 05:03 PM

That looks like it's after he let himself go. What with the massive beard and all.

edit: to dmv

"Spatulas"? WTF?

As for 12 Angry Men, I've seen the original and the remake (which includes an angry young black man, a wise old black man, and Tony Danza), but I haven't seen either in a while.

AHH There is evidence of a new swear filter. I typed in a-s-s-h ole, but it changed it to spatulas

God damn mother fucking swear filter piece of shit.

EDIT: Wow, I can see this fusty walrus thing getting annoying after a while

angusmaster 10-16-2005 05:24 PM

Jacaranda 10-16-2005 05:46 PM

Whoa back from my dads house and MX changed. I don't like it at all its really annoying... Change is bad.

Walrus Gumboot 10-16-2005 06:01 PM

I'm starting to like it. I have changed my location a few times in the past hour. I think of something and then change it depending on which Grateful Dead song I'm listening to

Broken Arrow 10-16-2005 06:03 PM

I saw you had the Mars Hotel as a home.

The Mars Hotel was a blatant rip-off of this kid:

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/member.php?u=175297

Tho only known MXer that goes to my school, he joined one day when we were hanging out after school or at study hall or something

Its kinda funny because I wanted to change my name to China Cat Sunflower, but then I remebered that he took it :upset:

jpj 10-16-2005 06:23 PM

Broken Arrow 10-16-2005 06:26 PM
I have the best location
Mars Hotel
Terrapin Station
Shakedown Street
Brokedown Palace
Franklin's Tower
The Golden Road (To Unlimeted Devotion)
Ship of Fools
EDIT: Mountains of the Moon

Would all be acceptable

I really like Franklin's Tower. I might change after a while.

Badmoon 10-16-2005 06:30 PM

Fennario

The least obvious of the Grateful Dead references.
