I have a signed ESP version of that. I'm waiting for Mustaine's SD sig. pickups so I put them in it.

I hope Kirk will have some pent up rage for solos on the next album
Me too it'd be good if they went back to their "traditional" Metallica sound

Seeing how they change sounds on every album or try to I doubt that will happen and I think that's a good thing. I don't like to listen to the same thing and the same style over and over again.

Britton 02-10-2006 04:03 PM

You know...my next guitar will probably actually be a Fender strat. I already have a guitar that works fine for Metal. Now I need a good solid single coil guitar. And I don't want a tele.

MRDuCran 02-10-2006 04:19 PM
So you live in Finland now? And are you coming to UK just for the concert or other plans too?

Oh I've heard Conan Obrien is popular there.
Nah man, I live in England, I just like Bodom so I felt like putting Finland.
Me = sad. :smash:

Got your email, I'll have a look :thumb:

I agree with that. I've got my Epiphone SG which is perfect with my amp for metal and so all I really need now is a solid single coil that'll do with great distortion. I'm looking for a really expensive Fender Strat however, because the ones less than $7 or 800 generally suck.

But I'll wait a while. I've been writing a lot more metal-ish riffs lately and it might as well be worth looking into ESP's/LTD's. I actually should probably get my jackson fixed instead and then buy a strat.

BLS_Infernus 02-10-2006 07:53 PM

I so ****ing hate it when people judge guitars that way. That they are good for just one type of music. Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones uses ESP and I don't think he is metal. I can get all kinds of sounds out of my Hanneman sig. from blues to jazz to pure metal.

P.S. If you guys haven't seen Mark Tremonti play I highly recommend you do. He makes Paul Gilbert look like ****. http://youtube.com/w/mark-tremonti-guitar-solo?v=MQY90Ngybd4&search=Mark%20Tremonti

I so can't wait for June when 'tallica starts touring again. They need to come to Washington so I can see them again

MRDuCran 02-10-2006 08:35 PM

LOL did you just say he's better than Paul Gilbert?
lol.

BLS_Infernus 02-10-2006 08:37 PM

Well maybe not better but maybe faster. He learned from Paul's video lesson. The guy is pretty kick *** but the tone in that video I post isn't his best.

Paul is a little dull to me. He does the same sweeps over and over in the same pattern and just adds another octave to it. Tremonti is a bit more interesting to me

MRDuCran 02-10-2006 08:45 PM

Paul hardly ever sweeps.
There's noway Tremonti is faster either, I've watched loads of him and just...nah.

BLS_Infernus 02-10-2006 08:56 PM

It must just be that "Mr. Big" video of Paul from his old days. That ways just plain out boring and people give him a big hand for that video. It also has him using a drill on the strings. Now that's original

MRDuCran 02-10-2006 09:13 PM

It might have not been the most musical thing in the world but his technical skill is stupidy high.

Doctor Night 02-11-2006 03:20 AM

Violin Bow > Drill.

Jev 02-11-2006 07:18 AM

Less than 4 months 'till Download. :D

Hey guys, to make a long story short...this teacher at my school yesterday told me that Metallica have written almost all their songs on acoustic and then changed it to electric. He said he found that in interviews or something.

Is that true ?

Father 02-11-2006 07:52 AM

I dont see how they wrote the "Kill em all" stuff on acoustics.

Doctor Night 02-11-2006 08:05 AM

I doubt it.

Chu 02-11-2006 08:33 AM

I can definately see that happening, my mate who plays in a sort of Deathy/Grind band writes all his guitar on an accoustic.

He says it prevents him from playing around with the guitar, and just write music.

Jev 02-11-2006 09:07 AM

They play Motorbreath acoustic sometimes right? They could've wrote all of KEA on Acoustic. By They, I mean James. He probably came up with the basic riffs on an acoustic.

I got a Flying V from my dad last year signed by Marty Friedman, Mustaine, Hetfield, and Hammet. :naughty: My dad told me it was a bitch to get them to sign it b/c of the Metallica Megadeth Feud.

Jev 02-11-2006 11:18 AM

How the hell did he manage that?

Doctor Night 02-11-2006 01:06 PM

They Play 4 Horsmen acoustically sometimes.

Jev 02-11-2006 01:13 PM

I need to hear that. I swear I've heard it somewhere before though.

2muchket! 02-11-2006 01:55 PM

Four Horseman acoustic would be good to hear methinks. I'll have to track that 'un down.

So MetallicA are playing at Download so I going to see them, BUT my mum (I'm 17 but I live with my mum so its house rules) will never let me go to a festival, she lets me go to gigs and stuff but a festival is probably going to push it. But seeing as I will probably only get to see them once in my lifetime (I am a HUGE fan by the way) I have no choice...I'm going to see them.

But that means one thing, lieing to her, saying that I'm going camping with a couple of mates (which is true of sorts) over the weekend. I'm all up for doing it, but I was just wondering what all u MX MetallicA fans thought of it as well.

I'm never into lieing...but I would if that was the case. Just go ahead and do it and if she ever asks just tell the truth.

They better come to san antonio on the next tour. They've only came like twice in the whole career. Other wise I'm hauling my butt to austin and paying 400 for a nosebleed seat
