Probable cause is only reason for searching in a designated high crime area. The most they could have done would have been to frisk the room.

If they smelled it, they can search you. The same thing happened to me.

I don't understand that logic. So what you're saying is if you are smoking in a low crime zone, then they can't search you? Or just frisk you? That doesn't make sense to me.
