Yom Kippur (יום כפור yome kippūr, day of atonement) is the Jewish holiday of the Day of Atonement. The Bible calls the day Yom Hakippurim (Hebrew, "Day of the Atonements").

It should be fun.

Jom 10-10-2005 02:32 PM

So Dan here didn't know that I used to be Antihero :-\

Oh my.

Hello to everyone else.

My campus is in a stir because of tomorrow.

For those of you that may not be aware, October 11th marks "National Coming Out Day," where the GLBTQ community (acronym stands for "Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, and Questioning") has their day to have a parade and a demonstration to... represent (is that a fair word?) their sexuality.

Well, let's just say that there was a group of kids here who burned a gay flag (the rainbow-colored one) and shouted "All faggots will burn in Hell!"

It makes me wonder about people these days. I mean, I'm definitely a heterosexual, but honest to God, there's been discussion about people wearing "God hates faggots" shirts tomorrow to protest the GLBTQ rally.

I mean, good Lord. It's bad enough my uni has been under fire for other things. We don't need another fucking news day here.

People sometimes :-\

DJ Ducksauce 10-10-2005 02:38 PM

You ever get around to those eve6 albums Jom?

Jom 10-10-2005 02:40 PM

I'm uploading the second one as we speak, actually. They'll be sent out in about half-an-hour or so - I have to run a quick errand.

DJ Ducksauce 10-10-2005 02:41 PM

Ok. Cool.

Kif 10-10-2005 02:42 PM

Why do gay people need a parade to show how camp they are? I mean, I don't have a problem with gay people, but I do have a problem with the cliché gay people, who act like 5 year old girls and pretend to be dump and materialized.

DepthsOfDreams555 10-10-2005 02:44 PM

Finally home, man it was a long day. I agree with you 100% Kif.

I don't mind gay people. As a matter of fact, one of my friends is gay. I don't know if he know I know though.

Homophobe!!

I have a funny storey about this, there was a gay parade going on threw manc centre and my sis was there with a couple of her mates. And one of the guys saw them in the distance, and shouted "they look well fit" then they got up and it was a load of transvestites. haha.

Kif 10-10-2005 02:47 PM

OK, I think I have this server thing sorted out. I'm going to make a directory hosting new albums which I like. I'll also host a request.txt file, and you can IM me on AIM and MSN to get a username/pass where you can upload, and then you will also have access to my entire collection.

:)

I can't tell if you are joking about that remark or not. Either way it doesn't bother me. Gay and straight men who act dim and girly piss me off.

Apparently one of my friends is gay, ive knew him since i was 4 or something, and i got told and i was like "oh..." and i couldnt honestly care less haha. I dunno if he is or not, apparently he told people when there drunk, who told me, but now the people he's told say he was online saying he regrets telling people..

Jom 10-10-2005 02:51 PM

I kid you not, this is a portion of a letter to the school newspaper:
This homophobia needs to stop, people have no reason to get in the way of homosexuals getting married.

An amendment made against homosexual marriage is not going to stop a homosexual from being gay - this person'll continue to be gay whether or not they can get married.

I've read many arguments against homosexual marriage legalization; the most common being that The Holy Bible does not condone it. This also says that women must submit to their husbands and that slavery is moral. As we've seen over the years, Americans aren't big on these rules, so why should we all of a sudden abide by what The Holy Bible says in regards to homosexuality?

Another one that I hear often is that homosexuality is gross.

I can agree with that one - I don’t like the thought of two men having sex with each other either.

I also don’t like the thought of fat people getting it on, though, but I don't get my amendment against fat people getting married?

Fat people will still love one another whether or not they are allowed to get married, so why should homosexuality be any different?

Homophobia has to be the most ignorant phobia in the world today.

When was the last time a homosexual approached you in a dark alley and mugged you at gunpoint?

When was the last time a homosexual beat you up in the bathroom at school?

Homophobes really need to grow up, rather than trying to ruin the lives of happy people.

Would you like it if you were in love with a girl, but found out you couldn't marry her and you were ridiculed for it because she had dark hair?

You can't help who you're attracted to - neither can homosexuals.
Oh dear :-\

I knew my friend since I was 7 I think.
For a few years, I had heard from various people he was gay, but just a few months ago, I found his xanga and it turns out he is.

I disagree with that a bit. I think you can be heavily influenced who you are attracted to. The media, friends and family, lifestyle in general, they all play a part in influencing our lives and how we act. I still think that calling gay people faggots in protest to them is ridiculous, but that newspaper has a few ridiculous points as well.

If I was mugged, to be honest, I wouldn't care if they were gay or not. It makes no difference, it would just piss me off about muggers more.
