You need Truth and Blow by Blow.

Broken Arrow 06-24-2005 12:24 PM

On a sample basis of all the songs on Tago Mago I say that some stuff is really good and some stuff isnt that good.

EDIT-Halleluhwah is amazing

I will download that sometime soon, but there is a lot of King Crimson in the Alt and Indie YSI thread :D

I don't have anything by them and most people seem to like them around here.

The first 4 songs are amazing but the other 3 tend to drag on pointlessly. That's the most definitive Krautrock album BTW.

Here it is thanks to Iai:

Sweet :D What key is it in? C?

www.harmonicacountry.com will get you started with tabs, its the best site I have found yet

If you have any questions ask, I'm learning too

Glitterati 06-24-2005 02:04 PM

Harmonicas are way cool. I have an old one laying around my house.

My friend's dad has one of those Dylan-style head-setups with a harmonica. Those things look neat.

np: Syd Barrett - Golden Hair

Illmatic 06-24-2005 02:06 PM

I can kind of play harmonica...I'm not all that good, but I'm not terrible either.

That Canadian guy in your avatar wore one too.

G. They didn't have any in C. Is there any difference?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-24-2005 02:17 PM

Did any of you download Tago Mago?

Walrus Gumboot 06-24-2005 02:18 PM
G. They didn't have any in C. Is there any difference?
The C is the most common, it has no sharps or flats (CDEFGAB). G is quite close, no sharps or flats except for F# (CDEF#GAB). I like my G the best, if I have to choose I alays bring it because I know more songs in G than in C anyway, you may find the same

I would just poke around and play some tabs to learn how to play one note at a time and bend, etc., but after a while you will find it really easy just to think of a song and play it

Yep. Haven't listened to it yet though.

Thanks for the harmonica help Walrus. I'm on the site right now.

edit- I just looked at some tabs and it looks like I'll have to master some basics first.

Try "Love Me Do" when you get the chance

robo2448 06-24-2005 02:25 PM

I thought the early Beatles songs would be pretty good. I'm trying Little Child.

That'd sound good on harmonica.

Does anyone own a Neil Young album named "Freedom?" I got it at a second-hand store for $8 when I was first getting into him. I don't hear it get a lot of recognition.

I had it, and then I lost it.
I really liked it though, that's the one with Rockin' In The Free World acoustic and electric, right?

Yep. Acoustic live performance in the beginning, electric at the end.

Badmoon 06-24-2005 03:47 PM
You know come to think about it you don't like much psychedelia at all. Stick to Jam and Country Rock. I highly recommend it. :thumb:
Kraut Rock and Psychedelia aren't really the same sounding, if you ask me. In most cases, I find them very different.

Actually the guitar tones in Kraut Rock remind me of Stoner Rock/Metal, if anything. Perhaps Can, Tangerine Dream, and others had influenced Stoner Rock.

I'm downloading Tago Mago now.

I downloaded Electric Warrior after all the good things I've heard about it I was dissappointed. I'm gonna give another listen now, though.

Ya, I just finished track 7 and I can't say I'm totally blown away. It's a good listen though.

Canadian-Guy 06-24-2005 04:47 PM

Speaking of Neil, did anyone hear the album he did with Pearl Jam?
