Hey Schyma,

Thanks for the nice feedback in the Woodstock review on Sputnikmusic - you didn't say anything that made it sound like I botched my history, so that's good news. And yeah, I'd imagine how that would infuriate you - Med was telling me that his mother was in the United States for the 1969 festival, and hearing about what happened thirty years later all the way over in jolly ol' England infuriated not just her, but her husband, too.

Strange how that works, but again, thanks for the nice feedback :)

I didn't know you posted there - was it by chance, or are you a frequent visiter there?

PS: If anyone else would like to read the review, then head on over to Sputnikmusic and check out the review if you're extremely bored :)

Glitterati 10-14-2005 10:26 PM
But I did just watch The Big Lebowski. That was a great movie.
Omg! You have no idea how much I love that movie

PinkFreud 10-14-2005 11:35 PM

i checked around on my channels but it appears that i dont get pbs at western. i was extremely disappointed.

for mix cd:

the flaming lips - yoshimi battles the pink robots pt.1
jeff buckley - drown in my own tears (live, off of live at sin-e)
the beatles - oh! darling
william shatner (with joe jackson) - common people
crosby, stills, and nash - blackbird
death cab for cutie - the sound of settling

or perhaps those are just my current favorite songs. hmm...

No problem you deserve every bit of credit for such an outstanding reveiw. I couldn't imagine how the people who actualy expirenced the real Woodstock must've felt. I'm kinda glad that it completly failed too, cheap assholes. Trying to make money off something as sacred as Woodstock should be a crime.

I go there every once in awhile but I never knew you wrote reveiws. Keep up the fantastic work! :thumb:

I encourage all of you to go read Jom's amazing reveiw of the fake Woodstock aswell.

magicbus 10-15-2005 12:22 AM

I began to read some of it, but then I went to eat dinner. It was good so far Jim, I'll have to check out the rest later.

Does Dylan mention Eight Miles High in one of his songs too? Or is it just The Byrds?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-15-2005 12:31 AM

I'm pretty sure that "Eight Miles High" is strictly a Byrds song that has nothing to do with Bob what so ever.

Groovy avatar btw.

NP: Metempsychosos - Arzachel

This album is one of the more impressive Psychedelic albums I've heard. I still have to give it a few more listins before I give a final opinion though.

CCR Rules!

Seafroggys 10-15-2005 12:53 AM

i bet they do

actually I like CCR

Riva 10-15-2005 12:55 AM

I like CCR a lot too, I bought my friend Green River for his birthday, and converted him. :D

He likes Aussie country though, so it's probably not that amazing.

unComfortablyNumb 10-15-2005 02:51 AM

I like CCR. My favorite song by them has got to be Have You Ever Seen The Rain. The singing in that song is just so emotional, it gives me chills.

Broken Arrow 10-15-2005 07:02 AM
I don't get CCR. :-\ Their cover of Heard It Through The Grapevine is great, which says something considering that the original is one of my favourite songs of all time, but the way that they extend is really cool. Other than that, none of their songs do much for me at all. I've got Green River and one of their compilations, and I don't really listen to them all the way through that regularly.

The Flaming Lips-Race For The Prize
The Arcade Fire-Rebellion (Lies)
Talking Heads-Once In A Lifetime
Ween-Roses Are Free
The Beta Band-Dry The Rain
King Crimson-21st Century Schizoid Man

Song recommendations
Haha, I only have the King Crimson song. Whatever.

SCI was great last night. It wasn't sold out, so people were moving around like crazy. We actually ended up sitting on the opposite side of the stage and up a level from where our seats were because that's where we could get the best view. There weren't as many drugged up hippies twirling around.

Cosmo's Factory is CCR's best work, I think. Everyone should own it.
PinkFrued, Livewired why didn't you guys say anything about the Parliament/Funkadelic show on PBS??!?! Did you guys watch it? Any good? I really wanted to see that.....:upset:
There was a Funkadelic show on PBC? damn. :upset:

My favorite CCR song is Down on the Corner probably. I really like Willy and the Poor Boys.

JonG 10-15-2005 09:06 AM

Something good actually happened in my school. I walked by the radio room and they were playing "Box of Rain", best song I've heard on that station.

I only have a CCR greatest hits CD....hmm, I haven't listened to CCR in a long time :( I should give them a spin sometime. My favorite song is Fortunate Sun, of course.

wow that is a surprise, I've only ever heard two grateful dead songs on the radio.

jpj 10-15-2005 10:08 AM

Touch of Grey is the only Dead song I've ever heard on the radio.

Lunch 10-15-2005 10:10 AM

I've heard that and Casey Jones.

Glitterati 10-15-2005 10:16 AM
Touch of Grey is the only Dead song I've ever heard on the radio.
I've only heard that and Truckin', which was my first introduction to the Dead.

JonG 10-15-2005 10:17 AM

I've only heard Truckin' on the radio. This was school radio, and I actually congradulated them. Then, I was reminded when I asked a kid w/ a Dead shirt if he liked Workingman's Dead or Wake of the Flood better and he said "What?!"

Can someone upload some Yonder Mountain String Band? I don't have any :(

Broken Arrow 10-15-2005 10:27 AM

I've heard Casey Jones, Truckin and Uncle John's Band on the radio.

The only thing (other than the Byrds) that comes to mind when I think of Eight Miles High is the line in American Pie..."Eight miles high and falling fast"

I'm listening to Ssssh right now and it's great...I'm only on the second song actually but I'm definitely liking it. I also wanna listen to that Arzachel album that was sent out, I just downloaded it.

Well, that line is actually a reference to The Byrds.

Well, Husker Du also come to mind for me. The Byrds version is better than the Husker Du cover, but it still good and still comes to mind.

Oh, I think I knew that actually...

I finished Ssssh, it was a very good album. I'm gonna listen to their s/t now. Which do you guys like more?

It's a link to a website that has some sort of script that changes your avatar, user title and profile.

Apart from that, I don't think it changes anything.
