It is still sad, Megadeth has a different success, they have loyable fans, they had Marty Friedman, Rust in Peace etc.
If he thinks success is popularity, well his right, but i just can't see why he ignores the best side of Megadeth.
If he sees success is popularity, I don't understand why he didn't join a little band called Fall Out Boy. I really can't stand Mustaine. He's got talent but he's a whiny prick. |
"But now all of a sudden I’m so important that they need me in their movie. Were you lying then or are you lying now? Why am I so important that I need to be in your stupid movie?"
Why didn't he just refuse to be in the movie instead of bitch about it after he was in it?
I thought he did ? As far as I knwo he was pissed because he asked not to be put in the movie but he was anyway.
"James [Hetfield] didn’t want to give me credit because he’s jealous of me. His whole frontman persona he copped from me." Hetfield had pretty similar role in the band since start. He played rhythm basically forever and still does.
Apparently Mustaine used to do all the talking to the audience with Metallica. That's apparently were Hetfield got the "persona" from or whatever, is what he is saying. |

I think before the BL came out Metallica and Megadeth probably had about the same amount of sales. But all that success (in a financial sense) in the 90's brought the rest of Metallica's catolog to the rest of the world...in other words people heard the BL and went out and bought Metallica's other albums just because they thought it would be like the BL Where as Megadeth never changed a style or did anything new. Some Pricks venture to say "Oh Metallica sucks! they sold out" when really they just changed. megadeth never changed. Dave Mustaine never changed..end of story. |
Metallica did not sell out by making the Black Album. They made music, people liked it, it sold. Easy as that. Megadeth made music, some people liked it, it sold less. After the Black Album came out, Metallica sold more and more of their old albums and now have sold nearly 90 million albums besides the Black Album.
And all of Metallica's shows are sold out. |
I completely agree.

Countdown To Extinction was a similar style of change to the Black Album, except it's not nearly as commercial as the Black Album. |
also look at Youthanasia or Risk. They're pretty different styles from Megadeth's first 4 CD's.
|
What about Burton :p
 How dare me! |
in my opinion, mustaine is a far better player than hammett is. maybe he realizes that and that's why he's so bitter.
but the thing is, you can't be all talent in a band. if you're being a total dick and pissing off the rest of the band and inhibiting the full potential of that band, then you don't deserve to be in it. i think that's what he can't see because yea he's an amazing guitar player. |
Yo, anyone know where I can find an accurate guitar pro tab of TLITD?
|
Yo, anyone know where I can find an accurate guitar pro tab of TLITD?
Powertabs had a pretty acurate one. I think you might be able to find the powertab on Ultimate-Guitar. |
Well I know Megadeth changed too....but not half as much as Metallica did.
Mustaine is a better player then Hammett, But Hammett is a better band member I love when he's trying to get everyone to get along in SKOM |

Mustaine is a better player then Hammett, But Hammett is a better band member I love when he's trying to get everyone to get along in SKOM
Bingo. I would like it better though if they would gt along though. I think everyone would. I haven't seen an anti-Metallica Megadeth fan in awhile so maybe the tides will change soon. |
I don't like the way Mustaine blurs notes together, if you get what I mean. still I'd take him over Hammett.
|
I wanna hear Mustaine do a shred album.
Not until next year though, I gotta make sure I see Megadeth at Gigantour this year. |

His solos just sound a bit sloppy to me.
|
Hmm
okay I think they are really good. I think his note selection sometimes is a little weird...but that sets him apart |
I think he improvs them.

Yes, I have a lot free time on my hands. |

Well he had an interview in front of a camera, so it was going to be shown somewhere. They wouldn't have video taped it for no reason. Plus he probably signed that metallica will have all the rights to the interview video which he shouldn't have if he felt like he didn't want to be shown on a video.
Apparently Mustaine used to do all the talking to the audience with Metallica. That's apparently were Hetfield got the "persona" from or whatever, is what he is saying.
Yea, I guess. But he was replaced by kirk, who barely ever talks on stage. So I guess James had to do that since nobody else in the band would. So I dont think James stole his stage presence or persona, he just kinda had to do it since nobody else would and so that the band wasn't boring. |

Dave Mustaine was asked to be interviewed. He agreed but after the interview he asked the film makers not to show it. I guess he was pissed when he found out it was in the movie. |

Actually your right. Mustaine's cool though. Just not the best bandmate. Kirk's solo's are all pretty much the same structure on a bunch of the albums which sometimes gets annoying. Mustaine's solos are pretty cool in that they change it up a lot. But Mustaine's voice can easily get on my nerves sometimes. |
I read somewhere that Mustaine was pissed off because SKOM showed him in a bad light and made people sympathise with Lars, or something.
Haha, how long'd that take?
Quite a while, after a minute my eyes would stop working correctly, and I'd have to rest them for a couple minutes :p |
"come on guys, lets just go hammer it out in there instead of on each other" Or something like that, then lars and james just look at him like hes an idiot.
|
Yeah so I just watched Dream Theater do a cover of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", and it got me wondering why on MTV Icon: Metallica, Korn, or who ever the **** it was, performed Sanitarium rather than DT? The performence on MTV Icon didn't include the final solo or anything.
|
MTV Icon restricted the amount of time the bands had so that explains the covers cut down and MTV didn't even ask Dream Theater to appear on the show, they covered MOP (the full album) at their own concerts (what they do is have two setlists sometimes with an interval. The first setlist is their stuff and the second is a cover album). I doubt MTV even know DT exist anymore as their only appearance on MTV was in the "pull me under" video of '92.

I saw that video the other day on VH1. I dont think they would have asked them to play because most people dont know who DT is. Instead they got Limp Bizkit, Korn, Sum 41, Avril Lavigne and Snoop Dog. |
Exactly. They chose more popular artists to get more viewers. Also, DT would show up Metallica by playing the songs better than Metallica themselves :p
