True. Well Overcast and Aftershock are early/mid 90's though. They're the only really early bands I know.
|
Just listen to Hate Eternal \m/
|
Fail.
|
Hate Eternal? As in the horrible death metal band, or am I missing something?
|
He probably means the horrible death metal band.
|
Converge isn't metalcore.
Converge isn't metalcore.
And let the laughter start......... now |
ThoughtlessThoughts more like AughtThoughts

Say what you will. But if you listen to ALL of their albums, you'll find it pretty difficult to call them metalcore.
Seriousley... |

Seriousley...
No, if you listen to all their albums you'll just hear a distinctive blend of metal and hardcore that's too hard to call either way, thus making it metalcore. Seriously... |
It sounds like jeff hanneman sold the guitarist all the riffs he wrote from his teenage years, and never used.
To me, its dirty thrash metal. |
lol
|
...what?
|
It sounds like jeff hanneman sold the guitarist all the riffs he wrote from his teenage years, and never used.

Or its not... |
Or its not...
You're the only person I've seen dumb enough to say they werent metalcore, and not surprisingly your only proof is "they sound like they're using Slayer riffs". Good job, because the band themselves have said that they were "hardcore kids with leftover Slayer riffs" |

Good job, because the band themselves have said that they were "hardcore kids with leftover Slayer riffs"
I never mentioned slayer. I mentioned Jeff Hanneman... and interesting that they say that. Anyway... I hear more thrash than hardcore. And ****, I even hear a little hardcore in most thrash, so to me... its thrash. Argue all you want, when I listen to this music, I will always hear thrash. |
I never mentioned slayer. I mentioned Jeff Hanneman
Uh, and Jeff Hanneman is in what band? |
Psh, Megadeth.
|
Uh, and Jeff Hanneman is in what band?
Cannibal Corpse... no wait... Nile. Metallica? Carcass? The Flaming Lips? Hanson? The Jimi Hendrix Expirience? Wait... I've got it. The Eagles. |
Cannibal Corpse... no wait... Nile.
Metallica? Carcass? The Flaming Lips? Hanson? The Jimi Hendrix Expirience? Wait... I've got it. The Eagles.
He's funny too! Is there no end to your delightful charm and wit? |
Double post, ban him.
|
He's funny too! Is there no end to your delightful charm and wit?
If I was trying to be funny... I'd say, 2 fish are in a tank, one turns to the other and says.... "how do you drive this thing?" |
It sounds like jeff hanneman sold the guitarist all the riffs he wrote from his teenage years, and never used.
To me, its dirty thrash metal.
major lulz |
If I was trying to be funny... I'd say, 2 fish are in a tank, one turns to the other and says.... "how do you drive this thing?"
Yeah, now if I was trying to be funny I'd say: "Converge isn't metalcore guys... I hear a lot more thrash in them" |
If I wanted to be funnie and bring the lulz....
I don't know. I'm too tired to think of an answer :( |
Yeah, now if I was trying to be funny I'd say: "Converge isn't metalcore guys... I hear a lot more thrash in them"
Hot damn... touche'. I think the only way this can be settled, is by not aruging over the internet... because we're eating away potentially productive minutes of our lives doing it. |
In his defence, Converge definitely used to emphasize the thrash. Still doesn't make them a thrash band.
|
Coke, have you heard anything of a new Buried Inside album?
|
Coke, have you heard anything of a new Buried Inside album?
Nay, but they're still together. |
Good sign.
|
Which should I review:
Architects - We Will Turn You Cemeteries Into Our Cathedrals, And Your Cities Into Tombs Skycamefalling - ...A Penny For Your Confessions Or A Love Ends Suicde - The Cycle Of Hope |
The Devil Wears Prada - Plagues.
|
 fuck that band
|
The Devil Wears Prada - Plagues.
This band... gets my regurgitation on. I use them to lose weight. |
skycamefalling
|
Indeed.
|
You should listen to more metalcore then.
Try checking out Architects, Skycamefalling, Prayer For Cleansing, and Dead Man In Reno [new stuff is really death metal influenced], they're some of my favorites.
I don't know those bands but I used to play in a metal band where almost everyone loved metalcore. So I've heard lots of different songs from different bands and I only like Converge (which they don't listen to by the way), and 2 or 3 songs they made me listen from I don't remember who (because I didn't like them that much tbh). So no, I mostly don't like metalcore at all. |
party like a rockstar
|
This band... gets my regurgitation on. I use them to lose weight.
