its iffy.

Gummo 01-27-2007 12:32 AM

oh whats that?
haha my mom took some weird course where you take the negative enegry and turn it back on the person attacking you.
haha she tried to flip me around and crap but she forgot all her moves.

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 12:36 AM

weird.

capoeira is brazilian dance-fighting. its like a combination of a dance and a martial art.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot7hBY4lQ2c

these videos are ok but they show what it is.
also you dont actually hit the other person as in if you can prove that you are better than the other person then there is no reason to hit them.

Gummo 01-27-2007 12:40 AM

that is the craziest thing ever. ahah the music made me laugh. my friend does baton and she can do some of those flippy thing

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 12:43 AM

i like the capoeira music :(

Gummo 01-27-2007 12:44 AM

ahah no! it was cool and funny. maybe it was them dancing and fighting and the music that made it funny.
i probably wouldnt have laughed if they werent dancing/fighting.

Gummo 01-27-2007 12:47 AM

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 12:52 AM

Gummo 01-27-2007 12:53 AM

my friends laugh at my music all the time and it makes me mad/sad. so sorry.
want to help me decide what movie i should see tomorrow? :)

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 01:31 AM

uh, ok.
you should see Eraserhead

Robert Crumb 01-27-2007 01:40 AM

Capoeria never struck me as a very viable method of self defense. It's cool to watch, though. Probably good exercise, too. All in all, I'd rather learn to play a berimbau.

well you wouldnt be doing the dancing thing if you fought with it probably, id just be that those kicks would be devistating.i mean they can get those kicks up pretty high so you could kick someone pretty hard in the face with one of those capoeira kicks.

Robert Crumb 01-27-2007 01:49 AM

Yeah, but while you're all stretching and getting your capoeria on, I'll shoot you.

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 01:50 AM

i would kick you in the face before you got a chance to shoot me

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 01:50 AM

in the face

pixiesfanyo 01-27-2007 01:54 AM

Eraserhead.

Robert Crumb 01-27-2007 01:58 AM

Man, I hope Inland Empire opens somewhere within 20 miles of me soon.

pixiesfanyo 01-27-2007 02:02 AM

Yeah, you could take a girl that smells like canned green beans too it and she'd be riding you like a five year old at an amusement park, all night long.

Robert Crumb 01-27-2007 02:06 AM

Sounds like a date! Pick you up at 8?

bleep_bloop 01-27-2007 02:06 AM

pixiesfanyo 01-27-2007 02:08 AM

AlienEater 01-27-2007 04:31 AM

I really want to see it

sexymuffin 01-27-2007 04:54 AM

idk mulholland drive made no sense to me

what about you guys

Sepstrup 01-27-2007 08:17 AM

Supposedly, you have to have a manual of sorts while you watch it to understand the movie. I found an in-depth analysis of it once, but I was too lazy to read it.

I don't like movies that don't make sense until you start analysing them...

I Was A Kaleidoscope 01-27-2007 08:25 AM

i ****ing love mulholland drive and i can't wait for inland empire

Neoteric 01-27-2007 08:51 AM
I don't like movies that don't make sense until you start analysing them...
Ugh, I agree.

Kayetan 01-27-2007 09:00 AM

I wish I could find a place to buy a record player because I have all these nice records and my basement. This is bumming me out.

class 01-27-2007 09:06 AM

inland empire...ta-dah

anyway, he did Blue Velvet didn't he? I honestly don't see the appeal to liking that movie...it's really not that great...i was able to sit through the whole thing, but it still wasn't as great as everyone says it is..

opinions on the new song? I'm not too keen on Iggy's vocals, at all.

Boilermaker 01-27-2007 11:05 AM

I thought it was pretty good. I'm surprised by the fact that I'm actually anticipating a re-united band's new album. Usually they suck, but this one may be different.

Kayetan 01-27-2007 11:06 AM

I'm not a big fan, imo.

Gummo 01-27-2007 11:08 AM
uh, ok.

Part of the explanation of the movie is some of the scenes are just used to evoke emotions. Its not all focused on strictly plot material and that's the part of any surreal type of thing.

Muholland Dr. wasn't bad at all anyway. It was pretty simple to figure out what had go on, and it mostly was just cut up and non-linear.

Not really indie though

A collaboration with Garm and some other guy.
