I don't mind speed cameras if they are positioned to act as a deterrent, in potentially unsafe areas, but they always hide them behind bushes at the bottom of long hills to make sure lots of people get photo'd. Which is completely against the point, but it makes them more money. Bloody government.


My dad got a flash from a speed cam the other week, but apparently it was out of film or something as he hasn't had any nasty letters.

Yeah, if they put them in accident hots spots, id understand, theres a speed camara near miy house, its right on the boarderling were a 40 zone changes to 30, and at a place where no accidents happen. Well, ive seen one accident happen there, and it was my uncle, who is a useless driver.

It was great though, it got put up, the next day, it was in half. Someone had took a chian saw to it and cut it down :lol:

I know some people who get out of paying those by saying that they weren't driving the car at the time. As long as they can't prove who was driving it, no one has to pay.

Someone near me stuck a yoghurt pot to the lens of our local stupidly placed camera. It was hilarious. I love the idea of a load of black rectangles printing out and the police being confused.

Also, i know places that just put the signs up saying theres a speed camara. A mate of mine was giving me a lift home from college, and we went the long way round, dunno why, but still she showed me there was a sign saying theres a speed camara, kept goign down the road, there wasnt one, of any of those white markings there has to be now, its stupid. When i pass, im gonna buy a GPS that tells me where they are.
