Nah he should leave it short, it's suits his personality and his position in the band better. :thumb:

Guess what the next FA after Paranoidd's is. And who is doing it.

Any random facts you guys have, just post em up. I would love to have the knowledge you three have. :thumb:

GurS 11-30-2004 01:27 AM

I know most of the history off by heart

So, like, why not write your FA, and then send it to us, we'll like add bits in or correct facts etc. if you want, and send it back to you for final editing before you put it up.

Riva 11-30-2004 01:42 AM

Cool. I'll e-mail it to the Maiden Authority, so that you guys can approve it. :thumb:

ashman 11-30-2004 03:41 AM

Yeh thats sounds cool. It's gonna be huge though :thumb:

Thunder Fingers 11-30-2004 05:03 AM

2. It's the song that got them onto Top Of The Pops
um... no.. that would be "running Free". dude, dont you have "early days"? there are 2 preformances of Running free on "top of the pops"..

icebase 11-30-2004 06:47 AM
dude, you have the bbc archives and beast over hammersmith? where did you get thoose from? they are a part of eddies archive, wich, also, Best of the B-sides is... i didnt thought they sold them as single cd's...
Lord Abortion 11-30-2004 07:03 AM

yeah I know most of the history myself
even tho im not in your authority....

Josh 11-30-2004 07:12 AM
There's three reasons for that:

1. It's their poppiest (to the extent that it's less then 4 minutes (I think, not all versions) and only has one guitar solo)

2. It's the song that got them onto Top Of The Pops

3. It was their first single with Bruce Dickenson on vocals, which added something fantastic to the band.
actually running free was the song that got them onto top of the pops (charted at 34)

Thunder Fingers 11-30-2004 07:24 AM

Dudes... i just heard the screams of the roadie who broke his arm at the end of Sign of the cross at Rock in Rio..(mostly becouse i was listening for it..) that was 'kin freaky.. if you use Sourround on it you hear it quite good, its when bruce joins rest maiden at the scene(when he starts singing again at the very end of the song) he was supposed to come up on an somkinda platform with wings, but somthing went wrong, and the plat form landed on the arm of an roadie and broked it.. didnt know how many who knows about this from before but ****... thoose screams... :upset:

Lord Abortion 11-30-2004 08:01 AM

gonna listen for that
**** man...

Thunder Fingers 11-30-2004 08:03 AM
gonna listen for that
**** man...
if you look closely, you can see the wings of the platform behind nicko through all the song.

Lord Abortion 11-30-2004 08:08 AM

was it the ed hunter tour when Bruce sang that suspended from the roof with huge angel wings?
that was in the maiden biography

Thunder Fingers 11-30-2004 08:09 AM

Metallicasthebest!!!! 11-30-2004 09:06 AM

What song do you guys think is better.....The Trooper or Number of the Beast??

ashman 11-30-2004 11:28 AM

The Trooper and NOTB both have good points:

Trooper:
Gallop Rhythm :thumb:
Twin solos
Chantterific chours
Great Sextuplet riff
Great song to sing when going into battle

NOTB:
Great intro, second only to SOTC
Simple Power chord verse
Great song to "mosh" to
Great twin solo
Great camp chaos video :thumb:

I can't choose though.

you see Bruce in the Flaming wings on the out of the silent planet video, I really wish it was on RiR... :(

Lord Abortion 11-30-2004 11:29 AM

personally the trooper

that's a ****ing difficult choice

ashman 11-30-2004 11:41 AM

I that vote is easily in the bag for HBTH name...

Another Victory for the Justice League....I mean Maiden Thread :thumb:

Lord Abortion 11-30-2004 11:43 AM

haha!

*white man jumping high five*

GurS 11-30-2004 11:48 AM

indeed

also, if you listen to 'back in the village', when bruce sings "i see sixes all the way", you can here Steve (probably) whispering "six six six"

ashman 11-30-2004 11:54 AM

It does sound like Steve, so it must be him...

GurS 11-30-2004 11:58 AM

indeed.

steve has a terrible voice :( yet he tries so hard

ashman 11-30-2004 01:55 PM

true, poor guy. I'd prefer him to have a bad voice to being a bad Bass player and Song writer.

Thunder Fingers 11-30-2004 02:08 PM
