Bump!! Anyone? If it helps, I'm loving the breakdown in the Aeon song "Forever Nailed", as well as the classics like "Slit Your Guts". Burrgggggh...I need to learn to be more specific.
Try some Nevermore. This Godless Endeavor has some pretty cool break downs. Or try Emperor's IX Equiliburiums' Curse You All Men.

If you don't like shitty production then you should check out Dissection's Storm Of The Light's Bane.

Drunken Viking 01-10-2006 10:50 PM

Can anyone recomend me some music in the vein of Death and Negrophagist.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-10-2006 10:51 PM

Well it depends what era death you're talking about....

Oh, and C&C, Rapture by Morbid Angel has an awesome Breakdown.

Freezing Moon 01-10-2006 10:51 PM
Can anyone recomend me some music in the vein of Death and Negrophagist.
Try Gory Blister and Illogicist for stuff in the vein of Death.
Can anyone recomend me some music in the vein of Death and Negrophagist.
I think they're fairly different...

Well, I'll give it a shot.

Atheist...That's really all that comes to mind now.

Drunken Viking 01-10-2006 10:55 PM

I meant them to be different recomendations, like some stuf like Death, and some stuff like Necrophagist, sorry should have made that clearer.

Try Cynic as well as Atheist.

Drunken Viking 01-10-2006 10:59 PM

We have, but you arent supposed to randomly recommend stuff here. People ask for a suggestion, then you tell them what they need.

gillygan 01-10-2006 11:29 PM

Hey CocaineAndCrucifixes, have you been completely sucked into nevermore yet?

Tyler 01-10-2006 11:36 PM

I've heard nevermore before, just not that album. I like them for sure, but they're not the best. I'm just finishing my..urm.."purchase" of that album.

Moses 01-10-2006 11:51 PM

Have you listened to This Godless Endeavor? Album of 2005, easily.

I'm going to in a bit. Listening to Aeon right now, they're awesome. Anyways, let's stop the off-topic posting.

I'm Charming 01-11-2006 02:36 AM

Could someone give me some band names,

Something in the vain of Arsis...

Thanks.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-11-2006 07:36 AM

Try Arghoslent, they rulwe.

Incorrigible Bigotry is ****ing awesome. better than any ghothenburg gayness.

StreetlightRock 01-11-2006 07:56 AM

Definately Arghoslent. You could also try Quo Vadis, and if you truely, honestly want to stretch it to the more brutal side, Death.

Stoic 01-11-2006 11:42 AM

How about the bands Arsis were mostly influenced by? At the Gates and late Carcass.

I'm Charming 01-12-2006 03:32 AM

I've heard mixed things about At The Gates....

Some people say they are amazing... Some say they average.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-12-2006 03:34 AM

Slaughter Of The Soul is average. One of their older tracks I heard was better though.

Stoic 01-12-2006 04:11 AM

It depends on who you ask. For example, some people are too "tr00" to like them. I think that they're very good for their genre.

nowitzki 01-13-2006 06:44 PM

Any suggestions for some music that's calm, yet very haunting and atmosperic?

Tyler 01-13-2006 06:51 PM

I'd say Peccatum is a good choice. Lost in Reverie is all I've heard, though.

Anakin 01-13-2006 08:10 PM

Could anyone give me some bands that are just great for pure rocking out? I'm not much of a death metal person but I do like heavy stuff. Thanks.

Ugh..you need to be more specific.

Anakin 01-13-2006 08:24 PM

Alright sorry, I guess metal basically that's more lyrical but still really heavy. Is that specific enough?
