This kind of reminds me. One of the simple pleasures in life is pointing and laughing at self-deluding elitists. One I recently got a kick out of was this Amazon.com snot who reviewd "Rebel Without a Crew." He insisted that El Mariachi could not be called a $7000 production because Columbia gave it around $500,000 of postproduction after they bought it. But that's only the beginning.

He went on to insinuate that Robert Rodriguez is a crook and that he stiffed all the people involved in El Mariachi on pay. He then claimed "I don't pretend to know..." Uh, no I'm sorry, you are pretending.

He also claimed that the only reason El Mariachi did well was because of leading actor Carlos Gallardo who was infinitely better than "gun-slinging goofball" Antonio Banderas.

He went on take shots at modern Hollywood all around. He insisted that Rodriguez, Tarantino, Lee, et al were just Sergio Leone wannabes. That directors should not write music for their own films because they're not "professionals". That Hollywood should stop using digital effects because they universally look too fake. That directors should stop writing their own movies because they can't make good stories.

Perusing some of this guy's other reviews, it was an endless stream of bashing modern revolutionaries, glorifying the past, and lauding jazz as "the greatest music ever invented" while denouncing anyone who didn't enjoy jazz to be "not smart enough to get it".

Bear in mind, I have no intention of talking with this pompous eunuch. But as I said, it's great fun to point and laugh at him.
